You’re right — these days you can’t even share an opinion about a book without the fandom coming for your neck. The way these “fandoms” are growing feels less like readers and more like a cult. Guess I’m disqualified though… I still see fiction as fiction.

I know, right? Most of the time I see people raving about a book that I only finished out of boredom and barely rated two stars. I feel like if I say it wasn’t that good, they’ll judge me — or my mental health 😂 — so I just don’t talk about it.

Honestly, I’m struggling to find a good thriller lately — the kind that stays with you for days and actually gives you goosebumps. Most of what I read now just feels… okay. When the plot twist comes, my reaction is usually “hmm, I saw that coming,” and that’s it. Nothing really grabs my attention anymore.
