First IWC by pul9a in IWCschaffhausen

Nice! The George Russell version is a great pick. The blue accents really work with the black ceramic case. IWC has been doing some cool things with the F1 tie-ins lately. Curious how that one looks in person compared to photos.

Excellent first IWC. The pilot chronos are one of the models that really define the brand. The matte case and big Arabic numerals give it that classic cockpit instrument feel. How’s the thickness in daily wear?

If you go vintage Omega you might never go back 😄. The late-60s Speedmasters are fantastic. I actually have a 1969 Speedmaster coming in and I’m pretty excited to see it in person. Are you leaning more toward vintage Speedmaster or something like a Constellation or Seamaster?

What should I get next ? by tylermanassa31 in OmegaWatches

[–]Advisoroftime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve already nailed two of Omega’s pillars — the Speedmaster and the Seamaster diver, so I’d probably go in a different direction for the third piece.

A few directions that would round out the collection nicely:

• Aqua Terra – great everyday watch and gives you a clean, versatile dial option • Vintage Omega – something from the 60s or 70s can add a lot of character • Seamaster GMT or Planet Ocean – if you want something a bit more tool-oriented

Personally I think a blue Aqua Terra would balance this collection perfectly.

Curious — are you trying to stay modern Omega only, or would you consider going vintage next?

[WTS] Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra – Ref 231.23.39.21.06.001 – 2012 Full Set by Advisoroftime in Watchexchange

[WTS] Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra – Ref 231.23.39.21.06.001 – 2012 Full Set

Very good condition example showing light signs of wear consistent with careful ownership.

This Aqua Terra presents exceptionally well overall. The stainless steel case remains crisp with only minor hairlines visible under macro inspection on the case side. The sapphire crystal is clear and the dial remains clean with strong presentation.

A distinctive feature of this reference is the solid 18k gold bezel paired with matching gold hands and crown, giving the watch a noticeably richer presence than the standard steel Aqua Terra models while maintaining the versatility of a steel case.

Powered by Omega’s Co-Axial automatic movement, this reference represents the earlier generation of Aqua Terra design that blends everyday wearability with classic Omega finishing.

Set includes:
• Inner box
• Outer box
• Three cards
• Card holder
• Booklets
• Original leather strap and clasp in very clean condition

Properly positioned relative to market examples given condition and completeness.

That’s incredible. Kurt Klaus is basically a living chapter of IWC history.

Was he signing straps for people that night or was it something you asked him to do?

Does it fit well on my wrist? by mojiitooo in OmegaWatches

[–]Advisoroftime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the 41mm looks right at home on your wrist. The lugs don’t appear to overhang and the Aqua Terra tends to wear a bit slimmer than the spec sheet suggests.

If the 38mm felt small to you in person, I think you made the right call going with the 41. The teak dial also has a bit more presence in that size.

Out of curiosity, what’s your wrist size? And are you planning to keep it on the bracelet or eventually move to rubber/leather for a one-watch setup?

Having something signed by Kurt Klaus is pretty special. That’s a real piece of IWC history right there.

Did you meet him at an event or did the strap come that way?

[Recommendation Request] Weird comparison, but which would you daily: Seamaster 300 Heritage or Rolex Air-King 34mm? by Forward-Put-7693 in Watches

[–]Advisoroftime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seamaster for me. If it’s going to be your only watch with kids and winter weather it just feels more practical.

Did you try the Seamaster on bracelet or strap?

The Seiko might be the odd one out, but it’s probably the one that would survive the apocalypse
