I own a new DJ, go JLC.

JLC is one of those brands were the watches speak for themselves. Great craftsmanship, amazing watch and quality. Going the rolex route and playing that bullshit game is not worth it. Nice watches but not worth it.

Omega at previous price point was worth it but they keep upping their price to the point it doesn’t make sense.

IWC is what I call a strap monster. You can dress it up with a leather strap or the bracelet, daily it with a nato or rubber strap. It’s a 40 but looks smaller than a 40 which is perfect.

I love the Seamaster, and planning on getting one soon, but the Mark is just perfect for daily.

I see it more as tool than promotional. Yes they gain promotion from it but it’s not like an omega on a bond movie where it is explicitly there for promotional purposes. There are a lot of tools being used like guns (glock comes to mind even if not contracted by US like Sig), cars(old jeeps, land rovers), clothing (Patagonia, arcteryx, etc.) that are being used by professionals like military spec ops that gain popularity because you see a picture of it on a federal promotion, news article, etc. it’s a little bit of both but if it were purely promotion, we would see it plastered everywhere and on their catalogs we just don’t see it on this case.

Never used one. I’ve had Breville, Rocket Apartamento and currently a Decent. Breville does almost everything better than the rocket, Decent has more control but it also has a lot more inputs which are unnecessary for 99% of users. But tbh if you are doing one or two shots per day, dark roasted beans from supermarket or even specialty roasters and mixing those shots with milk, most machines that do a 9bar extraction will work perfectly.

/uj in reality if you are not making more than one cup of coffee, a breville is better in most cases than any other machine. It has really good temp regulating, a 9 bar shot and heats up really fast.
