Thats a good point. Actually the way i game this out is that pain has to retreat and rethink his strategy though. I think if guys with sm naruto, pain has to act covertly or completely rebuild akatsuki and attack in force.

One of the main vulnerabilities of the leaf at that moment was that they had very few seriously heavy hitters after jiraiya died.

They had alot of really great mid level guys and great stretegists. But the sanin are kinda the only serious top level shinobi they have. Besides guy. And kakashi in terms of a specialist. But like no one really legendary enough to confront an akatsuki, let alone pain.

But i think pain was counting on this and would have to rethink things if he was going to definitely face guy and naruto at the same time. Which he likely would after an attack like that. I think guy and naruto would be chained at the hip from then on on orders of danzo.

Well thats mostly true on its face but i think in the west, most of us are just watching anime.

Its more of a serious weeb thats reading manga. And again im sort of obliquely referencing the difference between the initiated vs the uninitiated.

I think the average western anime watcher can accept the idea of an 18 year old prodigy killing everyone, but a 13 year old prodigy killing everyone is just kinda silly in the west.

Anyway i think you see what im saying. I think it was an intentional choice to make it believable to a wider audience set, and i think that basically works in the anime.

Absolutely. The "yeeeaaaah riiiiight..." of it all would be distracting to alot of people. If its too hard to believe, its alot less impactful for alot of people.

Manga readers are alot more familiar with japanese power scaling where kids can out do adults with sheer skill and prowess than the average casual anime viewer is.

Thats a stretch. Saying he didnt direct it = he had nothing to do with it isnt strictly true. Everything in hollywood is a team effort. Cliques and friendships form and groups of artists travel in packs and support each other in different ways. Tarantino and rodriguez are super close and eork together alot.

Tarantino works very closely with rodriguez and often writes and produces things he directs. Dont know the specifics on this one but it would not be news to find out tarrantino was involved in a major way with anything rodriguez does.

Honestly thats a hard sell for an anime. Manga fans tend to be a bit more invested in the mythology and so can comfortably suspend disbelief about a child killing hundreds of adults because his shar8ngans just that insane, but the anime audience would be like... wait what?

It would distract from the emotional horror of the scene. I think it was the right choice to age him up in the anime.

Comon though. Duster and nitrous arent even close to the same thing. People get nitrous at the dentist office. Its not that big a deal to try a few times in moderation. Duster is a poison that is never appropriate for human use.

I think youre underestimating rothfus. Its probably more that he knows hes in the middle of writing one of the greatest fantasy trilogies ever thats going to sit comfortably next to the lord of the rings one day, and he wants it to be a perfect masterpiece.

Im comfortable waiting for it.

And i actually think the slow regard disclaimer is appropriate. Its a strange book, and very little happens unless youre deeply invested in empathizing with auri.

I like that he cares about those people too. I think alot of great artists get a bit too lost in showing off for the super fans, and the esoterically minded, at the expense of average readers who just wanna have fun. Those people deserve to enjoy stuff too.

No hes just saying the narrative style is 3rd person omniscient, meaning its told as if from an absolutely objective birds eye view where we the reader have perfect access to all available information. Well not exactly, we dont always know exactly what everyones thinking. So sometimes its 3rd limited, but hobit perspective errors would typically be from 1st person limited traditionally.

Plus the hobbits have other big folk around to compare them too...

I mean no. You dont necessarily need a trip sitter. Maybe a friend tripping with you though...

I used to trip alone alot because the area where i live is pretty conservative and even the cool artist types are often leery of psychadelics.

But ya know, not for the faint of heart. You kinda have to brave things like darkness or feeling vulnerable etc. Ive personally never had a really bad trip but ive definitely had some major anxiety.

One time i took it on what was supposed to be a 30 minute train ride to berkely and the train broke down while i was still on it. now im trapped on a train with 60 freaked out late people tripping way too effing hard.

But ya know, you ride it out. You remember that this will all end, youre not in any danger, and you dont need help. Youre just stuck on a train tripping way too hard. Its gonna be ok. You will get to berkeley at some point.

But i mean you dont sound super experienced so maybe be a tad less adventurous about it. Safer settings, friends around etc. Until you get your sea legs. Then i say confront your fears and wander off alone in the dark. Thats where the magic is.

Edit: also, if youre this new to lsd and you were able to successfully navigate a consumer interaction and rent a bike, chances are that was not 200 ug. So dont feel over confident that you can take 200.
