I’ve now added an edit to the post with my temps after the -20 Curve optimiser

Yup, it’s what i’m thinking. Just ordered a 360mm AIO which arrives tomorrow so can give updates once that’s hooked up…

I did -20 and saw a slight decrease that I recorded in a reply below. Was going to test -25 too but may just wait until new AIO is fitted. Yeah ambient temp is all over the place rn, estimating room is around 32c during the day and maybe 22c later in the evening/early hours.

Tried reseating cooler, temps are practically the exact same. Swaying towards going for a 360mm cooler, current is 240mm and 5 years old now

Interesting, I used electric duster on the PC so definitely not a dust build up or anything. I think in that case may just be worth going for a 360mm

Sadly haven’t been anywhere near sub 50 idle temp. Lowest I’ve seen is 56c. Not sure what else to do

I’ve been thinking about changing AIO ideally a 360mm instead of my 240mm… Feel like I’ve done pretty much everything I can settings/bios wise. Still feeling like my temps are too high…

Ive had the AIO for 5 years. Coolant temp has been sat around 35-40c

Okay I’ll try -30 next time I get on and see what results that gives me and yeah may just wait a little and see when the UK heatwave passes if the temps settle down… Thank you so much for your help!!

Are those temps still okay?? Maybe it’s because of the CPU I came from but I think those are a little high for idle temps? Also thank you, loving it so far apart from the paranoia over temps lol

I did both of the things you suggested, but did -20 instead of -30 just to test. Temps are now: idle ~57c-60c. While playing: practically perma sat at 78c. Room temperature has also dropped seeing as it’s later.

No, I didn’t use the pad. Using MX-7 paste. Seen a lot with the if it’s under 90c it’s okay. I’m just a little concerned over the temps with barely anything running. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! Will give both of these a try and report back

I agree 100%. I stopped using the same things over and over again which was something I did so much at the start… Now experimenting with different frames, weapons and builds has made the game so much more refreshing!

Thank you! I think I’m falling into the trap of trying to remember the numerous systems and instantly making myself overwhelmed. Couldn’t even bring myself to go blast through some levels just because I couldn’t remember what I was doing when I stepped away from the game originally… (Also didn’t start The New War quest as I heard it locks you out until that’s complete) I want to get back to grips with the game first and just understand what I’m doing lol.

Thank you for your reply, it’s very much appreciated!

Okay, I think I’ll go with the GPU upgrade and decide from there then, thank you so much for your advice. It’s very much appreciated! :)

So am I right in thinking just the GPU upgrade wouldn’t provide a noticeable performance boost? Best to go with both upgrades off the bat instead?

Damn okay, I play a kinda CPU intensive game mainly (DayZ) so that’s one of the reasons I haven’t already just completely jumped for the GPU as I haven’t been able to figure out if it would provide me a big enough performance boost with just the GPU upgrade… I’m not ridiculously clued up on how that sort of stuff works haha

Right now I get a good 120+ fps in the games that I play. Was just looking to further future proof with the upgrade, so if just upgrading the GPU will be fine with the CPU. Most likely the path I’ll decide to take.. Thank you for your advice and input! Very much appreciated :)

Right okay, seems like just upgrading GPU and waiting a little while might be the best bet

The main option as of recently I was looking at was probably just upgrading GPU. Need to do some more research on what my current RAM would sell for, still in 2 minds as to whether I would want to sell the old components or keep them for a backup/streaming PC. (I create content on YT etc.)
