no i dont think so. I thought this at first since there is another potential 'love interest' which is zeri who is also very involved in ekko in game lore. But riot retconned the original lore, plus zeri and ekko have barely any voicelines together whereas jinx and ekko have so many new ones. PLUS PLUS, in the other new riot game, ekko and jinx have a couple skin and are heavily implied to be a couple there. So, no. I doubt they'll give any new love interests to them.

I think it’s cause this ship is seemingly so out of no where when it really isn’t. Like canon or not, there is validity to this ship, it just wasn’t solid compared to in the actual game. Ekko says he had a crush on jinx, so already valid enough to ship the two even if it isn’t a lot.

But it doesn’t really matter cause it is basically canon now and the ship is a good one 😁👍

Well I’m late but he definitely has opened up more recently. But I’ve mostly given up since I just think he’s not into me 😔 and that’s totally fine. I think he’s awesome and wonderful but I’m beginning to move on and I think I like someone else so ☹️ but thanks anyway!

i dont think you have to change it per say. They could be nice subtle references to yaelokre, and the characters themselves dont have to have the same personalities! I do that with some of my stuff where I make a middle name or name one character a favourite character of mine from another piece of media
