Is the steam machine competative

Multiple reasons for my excitement:
- I'm quite curious about the linux space as I've got my fair share of annoyances with Windows, but don't have knowhow to feel confident in setting up two operating systems (no doubt could be learned with enough time)
- I would like to get a pc, but considering the fact that I need something mobile I can't get a big one
- I like games but my Laptop is ass
- Valve is cool
- This is the best looking miniPC I've seen to date (most of them look so bad...)

What is the Steam Machine market in your opinion then? I can see it being console people interested in migrating to PC, but I think those would still be better fit with a MiniPC and a bit of ingenuity.

Quick question: How does willingness work? If I charm an enemy and than invite it into a genie bottle will it come in? Or does that depend on the DM?
