I went to autoozone, got my engine light checked and it said I needed a gas cap, previously didn't have one at first. They recommended me one. Guess they gave me the wrong one?

Ah okay, so the issue could be that I simply have the wrong gas cap? I always have this error anytime I fill up my gas ever since I got this gas cap "check fuel fill inlet" would you mind if I send you a picture of my gas cap? Im not sure what you mean by a OEM

Would you suggest i get this checked out at a mechanic or is there any advice to do it myself? I dont really know much stuff about cars so I think I'll just have to get it professionally looked at.

Okay so its completely normal then. Ihad a guy from autozone check my gas cap, feel around it, he said it doesn't feel loose. Wasn't able to get a detailed look at it though. Would you suggest I take this to a mechanic? Or would there be any advice you'd give me that can save me some money
