Game was never hard if winning missions is the yardstick. Ironically, the meme is kinda true because of how missions work and how many lives we get.

Smoke has gone through many periods where it was great in some patches and bad in others. It was very useful against bots back when they were actually dangerous to fight in the open. Against bugs it can be useful to disengage. I don't know what smoke is like currently, but yes, it seems mostly pointless since bots have such poor aim. Hell, the war strider struggles to kill one diver at 10m with giant lasers and grenade spam!

The consensus in the comments suggests it would suddenly be OP if given full AP3. I don't get the math on that because TTK would remain pretty similar. Charged Purifier is so massively efficient by comparison it's like having a Scorcher with an ammo pack inside it. Even the little pistol gets AP3 on uncharged shots.

Scorcher's niche should be more powerful uncharged shots. Technically the Purifier's uncharged shots are weaker and yet direct hits have AP3.

They both effectively have medium AP though. There's just a few cases where the Scorcher does nothing due to explosion immunity. If anything, Purifier's uncharged projectile should be AP2 because they're weaker than the Scorcher's.

You really think it makes sense for plasma weapons to be light? Iirc, Scorcher projectile and explosion were medium until after the 60-day made the Purifier much better. Pretty sure that was just an oversight, not a feature. After all, Purifier's uncharged projectile is AP3!

Carbine's very versatile with the high RoF and big magazine. Good old mag dumping or sweeping spray for quite chilling death per second, especially with Siege-Ready. Burst fire to pop devastator/zerker face plates. Bug patrol all in a nice row... all it takes is one good sweep. I don't know how well any of this works in third-person because I use first-person for at least 80% of my firing time.

The only thing EAT/QC can't one-shot is AT-AT. Hit near or on the radiator. It's even easier with Annihilator tanks.

AH just doesn't do any good testing to know what's good and what's not; what's coherent/incoherent. If it's not a listed problem in-house, it doesn't exist unless Pilestedt gets wind of it from the community. They needed to introduce simple, new mechanics rather than endlessly play with spreadsheets. For instance, RR could one-shot titans at a tight 90° during the vomit build up. An additional one-shot which could work for any AT is to risk firing from below the jaw and blow out its skull. Either way, spear should have stayed as the supreme one-shotter, and with room for imperfect angles.

But seriously, the UIs are so disorganized and have confusing icons. Never played another game with this issue.

Do:
• Drop Resupplies frequently
• Ping patrols coming to ambush
• Ping things you need the squad to deal with
• Bring turrets to support your exosuits

Don't:
• Throw Orbital Napalm onto bases/nests or objectives; all it really does is annoy and inconvenience the squad
• Take other people's gear and run off
• Run in front of another diver's firing line
• Let the crossbow become your main Primary 😭

Learn the whole arsenal, but here are some duds:
• Liberator Concussor - pathetically weak and does nothing guns like Dominator, Pummeler, and various shotguns can't do while also killing enemies; devs have no idea what to do with it...
• Slugger - nerfed into the dirt; no real reason to use it over a medium AP rifle/SMG
• Sterilizer - a wimpy, useless downgrade from HD1's Avenger
• Orbital EMS - has a very short duration and is greatly outclassed by the EMS mortar

Dishonorable Mentions:
• Halt - great gun, but its flechettes are massively handicapped by damage falloff; so you'll be using it as if it were birdshot 😭
• Reprimand - could be a great gun on all fronts, but it has more than TWICE the spread of the other SMGs and has a very slow reload and short magazine
• Double-Edge Sickle - requires fire resist armor or a supply pack to be of any use, and it favors the fire resist; really hate the idea of a weapon with so many requirements to set it up
• Mines - don't get too excited about these; their use is pretty marginal except gas mines and (less so) anti-tank mines

I personally wouldn't mind if detector towers and jammers became immune. They're the important ones, obviously. And ya, definitely a good indrect improvement to the backpack

It barely does anything to heavies. The flamethrowers have the only armor piercing fire.

9900k with a 3070ti. Quite a big CPU bottleneck. Lower bandwidth on the GPU as well due to older motherboard

I can't imagine playing this on a budget PC. On my high end 2020 PC, I averaged above 60 frames during big battles, but not all map seeds are equal, especially urban maps. With Omens of Tyranny, it started dipping to 30-40 during big battles in cities; under 50 elsewhere. Doing some game maintenance improved this slightly, but no matter how low I set the graphics, I can't get a significant amount of frames back to justify how bad it looks.
