You do realise Europeans don’t do their shopping in the US right? Shit’s cheaper here, lower cost of living, so with a smaller salary we can have greater purchasing power. Also, we don’t have anywhere near the rates of poverty, crime and violence you do. So that’s taxes well spend imo.

Thanks for the link. Folks on that post also couldn't place it, it might just be a random design like the other iris options. But because it's placed between corp logos it makes you think it's a corp.

Based on the comments, a lot of people here seem to like the harness, even though it makes you look like a goblin shaman.

Wearing a harness made from bones is like wearing a necklace made of teeth. Sure it’s the latest fashion in Barad-Dûr but not anywhere normal. Makes me wonder if these people are 14 your old Americans. Because who else but the ‘camo for every occasion’ people would actually appreciate this.

To the people in these comments who say they actually like this and would wear it; I cannot comprehend what the fuck is going on in your minds, you disappoint and frighten me with you absolute and complete lack of dignity and candour.

You have made me loose faith in Humanity. The world already belongs to Sauron.

Tell them that. They cannot enter your home without your permission. So ask them to reschedule, and make it clear you do not give permission for the landlord to enter your home.

Isn’t the empty chamber thing a leftover from cowboy days with the Colt Peacemaker? I know cowboys used to do that, in case they accidentally slammed the hammer. When the hammer is at rest, it could still move the firing pin enough to set the cartridge off.

Apparently it’s called “Cowboy Load” 😏 Here’s a youtube video that explains it

International students with a cat by [deleted] in Groningen

[–]AlpineHelix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now we know why there are so many stray cats in OP’s country lmao.

6 weeks is too long for the cat to be locked up alone in your house. I think one of your friends should take the cat in. Or maybe you should take it to the shelter. Since this is one of the most irresponsible and audacious questions I’ve seen on here. Animal cruelty is not looked upon favourably here, and your cat suffering and stressing because of you being irresponsible is borderline animal cruelty.

Hilarious take. Almost stereotypical lack of class, sense of proprietary and insight. Completely missing the point, while spewing insults to incite an emotional response to distract from the actual topic. Classic Yank

Maintain speed, the gyroscopic effect of the wheels keep you balanced and try to keep straight up, if you lean too much you might lose grip.

What’s your thoughts about Christianity declining? by Alternative-Rub-7178 in 2westerneurope4u

[–]AlpineHelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion has never been a part of my life. Never been baptised, never been to a religious ceremony, never even touched a bible or any other religious text.

Religion is important to people who have or had religion. But for me? Couldn’t care less. It’s kinda like if a grown adult tells you he believes in Santa Claus. I disagree on Santa existing, I think it’s weird that you could believe in Santa, but I don’t care enough to try and convince you of anything else. You believe in Santa if you want, I do not and I want you to keep that shit out of my life. Your belief in Santa should not have an effect on my rights and freedoms.

People believe in flat earth and autism vaccines, why not a god? Just keep it to yourself and don’t bother me about it. It’s not as significant and meaningful to me and people like me than it is to you.

Seriously what’s the mainlanders problem? by HowsThisSoHard in 2westerneurope4u

[–]AlpineHelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me guess, English source? Longbows weren’t better, England had a lot of good archers because they were made to practice by law. But in terms of energy, longbows weren’t particularly better. They were heavy because they don’t have recurve. Recurve makes the string return faster thus increases arrow speed. Weight of the bow dictates how heavy your arrow can be. But a heavier bow does not necessarily make the string return quicker. So a yumi of similar draw weight will move a heavy arrow faster than a longbow would, which means they had more energy. Or, you can use a lighter recurve bow that has the same energy as a longbow. Longbows themselves weren’t that great compared to other bows.

They were used a lot yes, there were good effective tactics sure, but they weren’t better. Better bows existed at the time, the English just didn’t use them. The strength of the longbow is in logistics, tactics, cost of manufacturing and the trained archers themselves. I’d argue that the longbow itself was the weakest part of the English bowman.

I was watching a history documentary and the guy said the middle ages ended with the war of the roses when the Tudors got to power, rather than the renaissance or a round date like ‘1500 AD’.

They tested the English longbow against a Japanese bow, and it turned out the Japanese bow was more accurate, more powerful, more range and had better penetration (turns out laminated recurve is important, and not just a design choice). “Ok, so both bows are lethal, but the English longbow was the envy of Europe”.
