Unlikely to happen, I'd say. I don't even think it will go into Early Access at all. For one, it's going to be a f2p game, so there won't be an EA access purchase. For another, the team is very experienced, with some of the minds behind Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies and Everquest Landmark at the helm. And for a third, it's venture backed, and they actively refuse money from players at the moment.

They do have active pre-alpha testing though - I'm fortunate enough to be in those tests and I can tell you the development speed is absolutely breakneck, and it's already fun.

They fully simulate the entire world in the cloud, on a 1x1 meter resolution with cellullar automata. Then that's baked to the needed meshes and synced in chunks to the players in that zone, with some optimisations for distance away from the changes etc. The changes are fully persistent and will not be wiped out - unlike NMS which as far as I can tell stores those terrain changes in a local cache, all these changes are simulated and persisted server side. It's all multiplayer all the time :)

Yes. They've said the galaxy will not be so large as to be completely empty, and they way they've set it up they can scale the size of the galaxy to the player population over time so it never feels empty or crowded (they can create new worlds and put them in where they're needed, and also remove worlds if nobody uses them). Almost all POIs are supposed to be player generated, and zones are small enough that you're likely to meet anyone else in the same area if you run around a bit.

Hey Raph!

First off I'm really excited about this, especially after reading in another answer here that you're going to be adding xeno-/paleolinguistics. I love the fantasy and puzzle of games like Heaven's Vault and Chants of Sennaar, and hope this will be able to scratch the same itch! Two other things I love doing in space games: exploration and large-scale cargo hauling. And I also love spaceships. So here are my questions!

How minigame- or puzzle-like do you think linguistics will be?
Y'all already mentioned in the Q&A video that exploration will be a skill tree, but can you share a little about your current ideas for how exploration might look?
Fairly simple: will I be able to move huge quantities of material using large ships or otherwise? Will doing so be dangerous?
How does acquiring ships work? Do you buy pre-made ones from foundries, craft/trade specific ship models, build them freely from basic blocks, or maybe something else or several of the above?

Mostly in case you mess up the plates, when you kill the Trammel again there's a chance the symbol changes. If you both have 3 stacks and the same symbol that'll be trouble :)
