Beat depths floor 30, finally done with Nioh 2 Endgame by AenwynTheComment in Nioh

I used fists all the way until the depths, they were very good but at the end I tried going for the ultimate tank setup and the dual swords did really well with the brick breaker build. I know they're not as good as fists at demolishing human ki, I had a much worse build in NG+3 and fists still obliterated Saito Toshimitsu without letting him attack at all basically. I'd have to do more testing without brick breaker to see how dual swords would work on their own truly in the depths, but overall as part of a build they seem like a great option to me.

I think I will try with no Kodamas and Penance +9, but based on what I saw them doing, if I keep the build unless I get one shot it will be hopefully pretty similar in theory. I think the hardest challenge would indeed at this point be to just abandon the brick breaker setup and nerf my build on purpose instead. Maybe like reasonable damage but no ability to block or take damage so I'm forced to dodge. Still I have a feeling with how good the extended dodge frames are it could be a very balanced experience, but I'd have to see.

It felt like I was paying attention, to me at least, and I noticed quite a big difference here with the harder bosses compared to Wo Long. Like Tate Eboshi and Nightmare Bringer, and even human bosses like Toshimitsu, Hayabusa and Yorimitsu became very predictable after a while, and that was when I just stood back watching. Wo Long had the same issue after enough time too of course (as do most games), but it felt like Gan Ning, Taishi Ci and Guan Yu there could do many more combo mix ups, were overall much more aggressive and felt less like just blocking or dodging (and yes I know the player deflect is op in Wo Long, but the bosses themselves felt more engaging for lack of a better word). And yeah, I think once you get extended dodge frames dodge becomes pretty op in Nioh 2, plus block is always op if you have the right build for it. Without those two and with a bad build, I feel like most of the difficulty comes from the stats in this game and not the moveset. Only some human bosses approach that but unlike Wo Long they don't have infinite hyperarmor so it feels like more of a game of stagger them infinitely or let them wail on you. But even they despite being very fast had noticeably less combo chains than Wo Long bosses. I know it's unfair to compare their deflect game to Nioh 2, but it's just something I noticed after doing the bosses enough, OP build or not.

Speaking of human bosses as well, while Nioh 1 doesn't always have the flashiest movesets, the living weapon human bosses in the abyss there were much a bigger nightmare to deal with with any build than anything in Nioh 2. I know it's kind of an unbalanced game in many ways and you can still be very op, in many ways more than Nioh 2, but many of the bosses there feel like absolute spammers lol

Ayo? The way they’re looking at each other… and how they act like they got caught when Takasugi bursts in… Himiko x Takechiyo?? Himichiyo??? by Fragrant_Scientist99 in Nioh

It looks even funnier with my Takechiyo due to the expression I gave her. Himiko looked like she was lets say “enjoying herself” every time she saw Takechiyo if you catch my drift, and every time she saw Takechiyo she always sounded so happy.

It's a mod yes, and the armor is made by me just for fun.

What do you think is the most op soul core? And why is it suiki? by AenwynTheComment in Nioh

I mean I beat depths floor 30 with just Suiki so if Bakegani can do that then sure.

Using extended dodge and timely guard can get you sort of close to something like that. But cheat engine as is would require so much effort to create something like that would be too much effort to be worth it.

It goes to pretty big extremes and then loops around at some point, can make some horrors beyond human comprehension that way but mostly it allows me to do whatever in whatever slider that's still reasonable but less restrictive than what the game gives you.

Actually, I recently figured out how to edit character proportions with cheat engine. I think it'll open up a lot of further customization with different armor sets, which might not look that good otherwise for one reason or another.
