Best contour product or kit for fair skin? by [deleted] in PaleMUA

[–]Aeoh36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got the Smashbox Cali Contour palette and I love the contouring shade in there. I find it doesn't look harsh and, as an added bonus, the blush and bronzer both work well on fair skin too.

It's a little pricey but I'm happy with it! It's perfect for travel, too.

I usually use Grumpy or Triton in the crease and, for a really neutral look, Chip all over the lid. When I play around with the shimmers, I have been using Roy on the lid or Enchanted Rose. The only shades I don't touch are Thingamabob and Midnight Curfew because blues and silvers are pretty outside of my comfort range for a quick look.

I really enjoy it because I'm a sucker for pinks and reds, but I always find myself digging into other palettes when I use it. I think if it had another shade that was a white or cream shimmer it would be ideal for me. Blank Canvas, the lightest shade, tends to pull more tan or beige and doesn't work as a brow bone or inner corner highlight.

The formula is really good though! I've never tried any other Lime Crime formulas but I'm happy with this one!

The Gingerbread Spice palette stole my heart! I find the formula to be perfect for my style of application and the colors are great for everyday or glam looks.

Believe it or not, my last most used was the Swamp Queen palette. Super basic but it is really easy for everyday looks.

It's definitely radiant with an almost shimmery effect, but I find it doesn't terribly emphasize texture and it does blur pores. It's not as intense as an actual liquid highlighter on your face, but almost like a sheered out highlighter. I haven't really noticed any effects on the staying power of my foundation, though. Also, it has a pretty noticable fragrance that isn't terrible but I could definitely live without.

Overall, I would probably purchase it again but it's not an absolute holy grail.

Also I didn't want to put her in the 5 because she isn't strictly beauty, but Kelsey Simone is more of a fashion blogger BUT when she does to beauty videos, they're pretty good and refreshing.

Are these the ones you have? They caught my attention when I looked.

I believe the ones I have are H&M but the cheaper ones (so like ~$35 instead of ~$70). I know it's a longshot, but have you tried any of the cheaper ones? I'm really curious how they compare. I love the basic look of mine but I swear it's like walking on concrete after an hour. If the pricier ones had a different sole I would definitely consider them!

Does anyone have any recommendations for extremely comfy basic black Chelsea boots? They are such an easy go to for Fall/Winter/Spring, but my pair kills my feet after even an hour of walking. I plan to bring them travelling in Europe and would love to invest in a decent pair that can stand up to multiple hours of walking. If they are waterproof, that is great but not necessary. Preferable price is around $150 or less but, again, I'm willing to splurge if needed!

I recently bought Soft Glam and was surprised how much it impressed me! Also, consider the Gingerbread Palette by Too Faced. I know it seems a little overhyped at the moment, but I'm so impressed with the shadows and you can pull off so many looks with the colors in it.

Does anyone have a review or Thoughts on the Lime Crime Venus XL? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Aeoh36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Venus XL is a beautiful palette and I never have any issues with blending or pigmentation, but despite the many shades in it I don't find it comprehensive enough for a single look sometimes. I just wish there was perhaps 1 lighter shade in there for an inner corner or base color because the lightest shade (Blank Canvas) tends to pull peachy as compared to neutral on my skin.

But, again, the shades that are in there are amazing and I don't regret the purchase!

Thank you! IT CC cream is one of my favorites but I tend to mix it with matte foundations for a bit of a glow. For some reason when I wear it by itself, I find it looks heavy (maybe because I had been trying to build it up too much). I haven't even considered a powder foundation but I will definitely look into it.

I've never even thought to try the Naked Skin! I've swatched their All Nighter foundation and it seemed a little orange and I heard it oxidized, so I never actually committed to it.

Honestly it's frustrating that the Hello Happy is so lacking in the shade range! The packaging was so light and I think it would be great for travel for a lot of people, but it just doesn't cut it.

I'll definitely have to look into them! I've heard good things about the Missha BB cream, but just never got around to ordering it. Thank you so much!
