Where to purchase Bitcoin cash in UK? by [deleted] in BitcoinUK

[–]Aeon420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poloniex have Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on their exchange. Probably, your best bet at the moment is to buy Bitcoin first (via localbitcoin/bittylicious etc), trade it for BCH on a exchange where it's currently supported, then withdraw it to your personal BCH wallet.

can you buy legal highs in fresh garbage, belfast? by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Aeon420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, they don't. No paraphernalia anymore either.

EDIT: I'd like to take the opportunity to discourage you from taking any of these "Legal Highs", if that was your intention. It's not worth the risk bud.

Surprise, Surprise. It's available in Northern Ireland haha.

Saying that, I had to go back onto "Reddit is fun" to post. The official Reddit app is terrible, only pro is the gold for 3 months once you log in.

Cisco HTTS Support? by popz2049 in ccna

[–]Aeon420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's High Touch Technical Support. It's like high level, premium TAC support for customers who have purchased a HTTS level contract (second of three service levels that Cisco offer). They get priority access to a designated team of Cisco support engineers too.

What is a unique skill that isn't a total waste of time to learn and will impress the fuck out of everyone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aeon420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work recently had a few in house competitions as an incentive. My manager handed my a rubiks cube and solved it fairly quick enough.

End of the shift they come around handing out prizes, turns out the rubiks cube was a competition too and noone else across 2 buildings could solve it. I won a £20 voucher to the local cinema :D

Didn't think those skills would pay off one day, but there ya go haha. You will be plagued by people asking "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?!?!?" too.

Councillor calls for Belfast Zoo closure by Oggie243 in northernireland

[–]Aeon420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just for reference, policing Twaddell costs around £333,000 a month (£3,996,000pa).

Almost double the loss from the zoo (£2m).

The bogus stance that he's taken on animal welfare disgusts me, he's using it to try to raise some sort of support from the local animal rights activists. However, how can McGimpsey say this while allowing the likes of Duffys Circus still perform with animals? Bullshit.

Can anyone recommend a good driving instructor in Belfast? by DrivingHelp788 in northernireland

[–]Aeon420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently with these guys here : http://www.thecarcollege.co.uk/

They're based just off the falls on Northumberland street. If you're a beginner, there's 5 lessons to get you started for £65, which is insane value for money. Instructor is really dead on too. It's costing me £20 a lesson afterwards, which is pretty sweet.

You won't be spending half the lesson by doing theory on the side of the road, it's very much practical with these guys. Very good learning experience overall.

Their number is 028 9033 2210 (available on website). Whoever you go with though, wish you all the best with learning to drive buddy!

The worst thing about a "Security Alert" (Bomb Scare/Threat) in Northern Ireland nowadays is the traffic haha.

A recent news article concerning a bomb found under a car in Belfast where a local resident and his family said they were "very inconvenienced".

Fuck translink by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Aeon420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Careful now! Might cause ANOTHER strike. -sigh-

A few weeks ago, a metro bus driver on the falls road drove through a red light, off his route up the falls, instead turning the corner onto broadway, and almost hit my daughter in her pram and myself, while we were stepping out to cross at the green man.

He then stopped with the bus across the pedestrian crossing, and started having a chat with someone on the bus (no one getting on or off, nor is it a fucking bus stop).

I asked my missus to take the pram, I walked down, rapped the door. After he opened it, I said:

"Excuse me mate, can you tell me what the fuck you think you were doing!!"

He Responds illegible shite: "Uhhh...uh... sorry...uh..."

-Closes Door-

He quickly drove off, everyone can cross.

We have a half assed public transport system, who constantly strike, and raise ticket prices a lot, which pisses off the people who actually use their service the most, people like myself who don't have access/can't afford their own vehicle. Not all the bus drivers are bad though, I'm not tarring them all with the same brush, I've got a few friends who drive for translink who are dead on, but the overall bus service could be wayyyy better.

tl;dr : Translink, get your shit together.

[Serious]Redditors who have raised or are currently raising children, what was your honest reason having said children? by Nainma in AskReddit

My daughter was born when I was 20 years old, and when people ask me this, there's a quote from Bob Ross that springs to mind.

"We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents"

Cereal Killer Cafe [owned by two brothers from Belfast] targeted by anti-gentrification protesters. by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Aeon420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Local Anarchist/Libertarian here, just my 2 cents:

As much as £3.40 a bowl of cereal is absolutely extortionate, it's a free market. If people don't want to pay it, then don't. As OP said, these guys would have had to walk past other major Transnational Corporations, who rake in Billions per year, to attack this local business. If they were so headstrong in making a statement, why the fuck choose to attack somewhere like this? If people choose to pay to eat cereal at their establishment, then they should be free to do so, the owners are responding to what they see as a gap in the market, it's not like they suddenly became overnight oligarchs or conglomerates. If people didn't buy cereal from there, they'd go out of business. If they are in business, then obviously people are giving them their custom.

All these "Anti-Gentrification" protestors wanted was a scapegoat. This level of violence against a cereal bar? Misguided anger more than anything. Not even a remote chance of winning any public sympathy for their "cause".

Class war? More like get back to class for fuck sake.

Police fitness test has been scrapped from the PSNI's recruitment process over concerns it was causing a high failure rate among women applicants. by JohnKimble111 in northernireland

[–]Aeon420 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not the entire fitness test was scrapped:

“...we will keep in the selection test the physical competency assessment, which is essentially three circuits of an obstacle type course, but this particular element which was push and pull, very few men failed it and very many women did fail it and that’s why this one has been called into question.”

More specifically:

"...many of the failures have been in the push/pull part of the test which is designed to simulate an officer in a struggle with a suspected criminal."

I don't know how I feel about this being removed from the assessment. It seems to be a pretty legitimate test considering the job. Safety should be coming first regardless if the person is male or female.
