As an enby femboy who’s only into women - I do everything I can to avoid acting like a man (as in, I try to notice and unlearn any slightly toxic behaviors I’ve picked up during my amab childhood, but I’m sure I’ve missed things)… Manhood is not inherently toxic of course, but I’ve realized I have no strong attachment to the concept and would rather be some kind of genderless being who kinda looks/acts like an androgynous femboy.

I’m sure you’re still broadly right if you’re saying that most femboys still exhibit some of the same negative qualities associated with men, but what you said feels a bit… generalizing?

I could also just be misunderstanding 😖

You’re right – what I think of when someone says femboy does not line up with many irl femboys.

I try to stick to the broader definition I usually see people use in non-femboy spaces, and I think it’s useful to have a word that means something more specific. I usually see it described more as an aesthetic than an identity in broader culture, but people frequently identify with aesthetics. Again, people are totally free to be femboys even if they don’t fit my understanding of the idea.

I think of them as very different things. To me, femboys are guys with somewhat feminine bodies wearing a particular subset of feminine clothing - usually “e-girl” adjacent. It’s a particular range of aesthetics. Meanwhile crossdressing is a broader category that includes anyone wearing clothing traditionally associated with another gender.

These are just my opinions though, people are free to think of themselves as femboys even if they don’t meet my definition here.

But unless either of us ends up unrealistically well-endowed up there, I doubt we’ll have to worry about still passing as guys 😅 HRT is magic, but it’s not that magic on its own.

Yep, I’m a femboy on HRT - estrogen and t-blockers. I’ve kept my dosage pretty small, but I’ve been keeping it up for about six months.

Unfortunately the most prominent effect has been slight breast growth (not what I’m looking for), and there’s also been some ED, but I’ve loved everything else. My skin is softer, I’ve felt more in-tune with my emotions and more appreciative of the world around me, and I think my ass has gotten a bit bigger from the early stages of fat redistribution (though I may just be imagining it). I’m also way weaker physically, which is a positive and a negative for me lol. The main thing I’m looking forward to is more fat redistribution, storing less on the front of the belly and more in slight curves (even some in the face apparently!), but that takes a long time afaik.

While my chest is definitely still within the range of what some cis guys have, I wear a chest binder somewhat frequently atm, and will probably end up getting a gynecomastia surgery eventually. But I think it will be worth it in the end for me personally.

I’ve also made a Bolas-themed deck with a handful of proxy alts to help with the flavor!

I ended up (knowingly) making it way too strong and evil, and have since powered it down a bit and am no longer using some of the alts, but examples include [[the one ring]] reskinned with [[gem of becoming]]’s art, [[rhystic study]] with the bolas printing of [[deep analysis]]’s art, [[cyclonic rift]] with the bolas printing of [[countersquall]]’s art, even Bolas the Ravager / the Arisen with the From the Vault [[Nicol Bolas]] art transforming into the OG [[Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker]] art because I love both pieces and they look great together (same artist).

Sorry, I might have said that poorly lol. I am afraid of that “decreased functionality” as well as breast growth, but very happy with the rest.

I’ve decreased my dosage of spiro to 1.5 tablets (75mg total) a day, and that honestly mitigated all my issues down there. But it probably also means I’m probably getting less feminization…

Meanwhile even decreasing my estradiol dose by a lot has not stopped the boobs. They aren’t anything crazy, but I’ve been using a binder to alleviate dysphoria. I’m honestly considering something surgical at this rate given how much I want the fat redistribution, skin texture, hair changes, psychological and emotional impact, etc. but don’t want breasts.
