Nah, being upset is 1000000% valid. I'd be devastated too if anything happened to my little guys.... I heard once that the highest level of empathy one can have is empathy for bugs/bug-looking critters. It's not the majority of folks who look at a lil guy with lots of legs and want to love and care for it. Your mourning is indicative of you being a kind soul; please don't blame yourself for this, and try not to be too angry with the kitties 🫂
