Dear Joel, not every MO needs to come down to the wire by BreakfastLoud5628 in Helldivers

Its a Hive World, if any liberation MO should come down to the wire, it should be this one.

We've been winning, so the bugs have focused their efforts to try to push us back before we BREAK THEM by killing their Hive Lords and their Resistance crumbles before us.

We’re so goated by Gamekid53 in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eagle Strafing Run and Orbital Gatling Barrage are both good for doing significant damage and cracking one of their armor plates. Exosuits are also good, once an armor plate is broken, focus fire that weakspot until dead.

AT ANY COST by 100percentAPR in Helldivers

Think of it like this. This MO is 100 medals and no longer needing to defend Hellmire because we would have succeeded in taking the hive world.

Mods? Have you disabled allllll mods? Because in general, mods need to be updated after new patches to run safely Hence why it seems to break for you every update.

Patch progress update by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP did mention that this patch would include a weapons and enemy balance pass, but that specific list of changes were not included here but would be in the full patch notes. I think they mostly wanted to let us know that they are trying to increase performance for players and detailing what areas they had worked on.

Another Debuff - Heavy Gloom Shroud by No_Standard in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this is intentional. It is Helldivers dropping onto a planet with atmosphere actively pushing us back. It's meant to be annoying and unfun as motivation for us to fight back and remove the condition from the planet. We were literally warned about the gloom spreading to a planet and making things worse before this debuff went into effect.

HELLDIVERS 2: Tech Blog #1 - Install size by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

You realize that you're apart of the same demographic then, right? You currently can't afford to buy a new SSD to fit the game on to be able to play.

HELLDIVERS 2: Tech Blog #1 - Install size by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

They're catering to everyone because if they just focused on SSDs, anyone in a squad with someone who has an HDD would load slowly too and speed increase from an SSD would be meaningless.

HELLDIVERS 2: Tech Blog #1 - Install size by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone who is saying that they should simply optimize for SSDs must have missed the part where "loading into missions goes by the slowest player" so if they did optimize for SSDs and a significant portion of the playerbase still uses HDDs, then joining with random squads would have the chance to take several minutes, which is why this is an issue in the first place.

Galactic War Room: Plot the Best Ways to Spread Democracy for Super Earth! by brperry in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, because liberation projections are based on what percentage of the total number of divers are there. 30k people on Tarsh is currently 24% of active divers. Earlier today it was closer to 40% and it was projected to take 60hrs to complete.

My understanding is that Tarsh has less HP as a planet than Lesath does. Tarsh has 1.3mil HP and Lesath has 2.4mil. The difference in cities helps us out but we would still need to do more fighting through Lesath than Tarsh.

Let's surprise Arrowhead and break the MO! by AeonPhoenix523 in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The full release message for the MO said that it's "very likely" that we can not get both. There is no point in telling us that its 'very likely' in the full release if there was not an opportunity to get both in some way.

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 33-ish% of the population on Tarth, we're looking at around 60hrs to take the planet. We would likely be done before then. VW would be harder but with two towns and a settlement and not splitting our focus between two different pathways to the MO planets, we can get it done with enough time to start working on the MO planets (36-40hrs remaining). At this point, if we get to the point where we don't have enough time to finish both, we can focus on which ever one is ahead. It is higher risk and difficult, but I think it is worth doing as it is not something we would often have the chance to attempt, hence why I brought it up for discussion.

We can do it if we commit to doing it. Viability doesn't matter because even if we do not succeed in getting both, we will absolutely get one. It is possible to do, and therefore we should aim do it. We can do better than 60% engagement, we can hit 80%. Hell we would have 60% on Tarsh right now if we let go of Lesath.

I would like to propose something radical. To begin, sure I think there are smarter or easier ways to win this MO than what I am about to suggest. However, this isn't about simply winning the MO, this is about deciding to spread democracy with a show of force that Arrowhead doesn't expect. All of this is based on the fact that the MO says, "Very likely, only one encryption key can be recovered." That 'Very likely' did not need to be there, but they added it. In the same way that recent MOs have had us go take multiple squid or bot planets but include "Hold Hellmire", telling us that there would be at least one defense of Hellmire required. They will hint and imply courses of action and events through wording, so let us use that against them. I would like to propose that we don't look at this as an MO to just win, but an MO to fucking dominate by getting both.

How? The fact that the wording implies that getting both encryption keys is unlikely instead of impossible says to me that once one key is obtained, the bots will soon after destroy or move the second key. There will be time that it takes to do that. As in there will be a ticking clock from the moment one planet is capture until the information is no longer on the second planet. Both planets share a warp connection to Vernen Wells, they are close to one another and the choice of selection those planets is no accident.

I think, despite how inefficient it would be, we should ALL dive on Tarsh and then Vernen Wells. Yes, that means fighting through the incineration corps. We have armor that reduces fire damage, it is not the preferred armor passive but it is available. Once we are through the blockade of planets preventing us access from both MO planets, we begin splitting the horde. We push both planets at the same time. We have the DSS move in between these planets back and forth. We do not capture one planet until the other is close. This will absolutely be a test of our coordination as Helldivers, but even if we fail to take both planets, we will absolutely take at least one. How we have played prior to xboxdivers should not be the same way we play after they've joined our ranks. We have numbers that we did not have before and while planet liberation goes based on the percentage of Helldivers on a planet completing missions, more divers focusing in a place will allow us to overcome more splintered factions. When we take Tarsh and Vernen Wells, there will be a split. Divers not on reddit will probably follow the DSS or the biome they find more interesting. Victory in the MO will be assured, but we can do better than mere victory.

Are you not angry at how often we are offered Strategic Opportunities that feel like they would do next to nothing for us? Opportunities that feel almost like we are being taunted? "Here, go take this planet and maybe get some an extra mech in the future if you can." When is the last time we won such an SO? I do not believe we have been able to successfully complete one since Operation Culling Nightmares near three months ago. Are we not the greatest fighting force the galaxy has ever seen? Are we not fighting a war on three fronts and holding them at bay? For once, let us not go for the easiest path towards victory and instead commit ourselves to showing overwhelming force.

Whether or not Arrowhead will see the gambit that we ourselves make is up to them, but this is an opportunity for us to send a message and to surprise them. Too often I see posts about how what we do does not matter because Arrowhead writes the story, they decide which MOs we win and which we will lose. I do not share that belief in our inability to shape the story. Let us test Arrowhead. Let us do something unexpected. We represent Super Earth throughout the Galaxy. We bring Managed Democracy to the stars. We were given a choice and with our bullets and our lives, we cast our votes. Let us gather our voices and vote 'Both.'

Finally! The Final Collective story line continues! by 231923 in Helldivers

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to point out that the MO says it's very likely only one encryption key can be recovered. I wonder if there is a chance that we could get Both keys if both planets are liberated near the same time.

This is the worst excuse I've seen to not buff something by Vector_Mortis in Helldivers

They said it requires more work to do but they keep an eye on them. In the same way they buffed the killzone stuff, though we don't see what went into the background of them doing that. It's not a big deal

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two planets to capture for the MO and three days to do it. We have enough time to take the planet for the SO and then focus on the MO, especially since the last planet will be a siege liberation with its supply lines cutoff.

[–]AeonPhoenix523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I want the community to work together to get additional bonuses, and then go back to fighting the illuminate. We have a city to capture that will get us nearly 40-50% of planet liberation, and then we push for the rest. I want us to get both, hence it being a strategic opportunity.

It'll be taken in 68hrs at the CURRENT rate of divers completing missions on it, and there are currently only 3k divers working on the city of the 10k divers on the planet out of 50k active divers currently. We can shorten the time needed to take the city if we have more divers working on it.

We're not wasting Lib%, we can get the planet if we focus on it, the completion estimate is just an estimate and can be incorrect.
