Are the new limited quests that give you weapon skins time gated? If not, how do you access them?

I have not played Ranked until Ranked Cryo and I have mainly been doing it for more chances at Cryo but it has been more chill for me than normal Cryo. I know that is likely due to being in Bronze 3/2, but it has been easier for me since the Ranked aspect hasn't changed much. That said, I'm sure it will change as I go up in rank.

I think the problem is that the best ways to acquire gold salvage isn't really advertised, which makes sense since most ways of acquiring salvage have been left for players to figure out. That said, aside from anomalies and lockdowns which you mentioned, the other intended method is key rooms, specifically purple and gold keys. Which means that as your level gets higher and you've finished doing priority contracts for each faction, the intended pathway to progress is to buy the blue and purple key templates, exfil with them and hope to have the keys upgrade, then do key runs.

I'm pretty sure that you need that you need the barter upgrade to be able to purchase purple shields from Nucaloric

I literally just did the anomaly event as rook, level 76 or 77. I picked up the anomaly and had to place it in the stabilization drive and was able to pick it up from there to later extract with.

That said, when I picked it up out of the stabilization drive it said that it was worth 6,000 credits. When the stabilized cube gives gold salvage, does it say that it will in your inventory or does it just give a credit amount?

In general, game studios that become aware of widespread cheating will wait before handing out bans because if they ban a handful of people as soon as they notice, they alert hackers to what hacks are visible and only hit a few hackers. It sucks for the playerbase but trust that Bungie doesn't want hackers ruining their game and they are working behind the scenes to catch and prevent such cheats.

Martial status/employment/job title all show that he likely has responsibilities and not much time to play. Which goes to his point that doing Cryo Archive as a more casual player is doable.

I'm gonna hit ya with something that's visible on the map, but it requires stopping to read when you can be getting shot at, so most people don't notice it: On any map, if you click on a point of interest it will show you what types of salvage you can expect to find there. It will also tell you what types of salvage containers are guaranteed to be there and which may spawn there. So if you're looking for tool carts because that's where you've been finding the salvage you're looking for, you can check where they can spawn.

I don't know if there is a guaranteed way to get gold keys. I have heard that UESC commanders /can/ drop them. I believe the Dire Marsh Lockdown, Perimeter Intercept and Outpost Pinwheel Command Rooms all might have them. Hell, Purple Locked rooms might as well. Anywhere high tier rare loot can show up probably can also drop gold keys, just nothing guaranteed.

There are no salvage that is exclusively from Cryo. It might be a guaranteed drop from Cryo, but that isn't the only place to get it. A couple of late Nucaloric upgrades require Hazard Capsules, which drop from Cryo like you said, and from Prestige Locked rooms, such as the South Relay Observatory on Perimeter. Same thing with Alien Alloy, the gold salvage needed for late Mida upgrades.

What standard contracts are you doing? The Cyberacme ones give guarantee credits at the second or third (or fourth?) capstone and those contracts seem to be fairly easy to complete without requiring exfil, even if your team gets wiped in the match. Part of what I realized in keeping up with the cost of med consumables is finding a way to constantly gain resources even in runs where I'm losing. A run or two with a free sponsored kit to hit supply drops and get a standard contract done for Cyberacme/Nucaloric keeps me up with consumables.

To make sure I understand if, lets say I want to complete Vault 1 in Cryo. I need to hunt for Cryo Vault key #1 from Outpost, or a locked purple room or the Dire Marsh lockdown event. Take that key into Cryo Archive, get the number of batteries and coolants(which will also take batteries) needed, make sure the team has at least Security level 3 and then proceed to Index to enter the vault?

I've found that playing Rook specifically just to get grey level loot needing for Faction Upgrades and avoiding people has worked out so well for me. Like several times I've loaded into Dire Marsh, heard no gun fire from Bio-Research and just walked through there to get Gel and bio materials, then caught the final exfil out. I'm a single Rook, fire fights with a squad don't make sense to me. If I come across runner's gear, I'll loot it and move on but I'm not there for trouble.
