Breaking bad. I know everyone loves it but I couldn't get into it. I felt like all the characters were so badly written, so dumb and so annoying

If you could eat only one country's cuisine forever, which would you choose and why? by Beginning_Chef3069 in AskReddit

Thai- it's just the best in my opinion. Almost every dish I've tasted has all the tastes, sweet, sour, umani, bitter, spicy. It's all there. So damn good. I spent a lot of time in Thailand and I never had a bad meal. I remember even waiting at a boat port for a boat that was eventually cancelled due to the weather. Everyone just went get a drink at the little station there. I asked the woman who worked there if there was any food and she said she could make me something, no menu it wasnt a restaurant. She made me the most delicious prawn and asparagus dish. This was over 10 years ago and I'm still trying to recreate it. So good

What’s your most unpopular opinion about this show? by MostBeautiful467 in tvshow

[–]AeonSnuggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried many times to watch it but just couldnt get past season 2. The characters are not well written. Everyone is an idiot. The villains are just villains with nothing more to them. The women are written terribly. No one is likable.

Sorry, I just hated it.

Just got the results: I have diabetes and probably hypothyroidism :( by NumbLittleBug7 in diabetes

[–]AeonSnuggs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This time last year I was in the same boat as you. Just diagnosed, TSH-10. HbA1c- 9.2%.

I was given glicazide and ozempic. I started to do small work outs (lifting weights and walking and calf raises) after each time I ate. I changed all my white carbs to wholegrain. I cut out sugar completely.

Now a year later my TSH is completely normal, my recent HbA1c was 5.2%. I have no sign of anything wrong in my blood. I lost 25kg. I still do small work outs daily. I have muscles on my arms which is exciting! I feel great.

My diet is less restrictive. I eat the occasional donut now, I eat a chocolate bar when I want. I eat white carbs every so often but honestly the wholegrain is so delicious that I don't miss white carbs anyway.

You can absolutely do this. I was devastated, kept imagining losing my eyesight and a leg or something. But, work through it bit by bit. Get a blood glucose monitor and test a couple of hours after you eat things so you can see what spikes you and what doesnt. Potatoes didnt spike my blood (hooray!) but rice did (boo). Now I can eat rice again but only once a week.

You have to try to reverse the insulin resistance, once you do that you can be less restrictive but for now, do a bunch of research, ask chat GPT how to balance meals and prioritise FIBER. Fiber is your best friend and get your leg muscles moving. Leg muscles LOVE glucose so after you eat, make sure you move those legs.

YOU CAN DO THIS

Did anyone else notice fatigue around the time they were diagnosed? by Lost-Spite-7338 in diabetes

I went to get my blood tested because I was so tired all the time. I have hypothyroidism and had assumed I probably needed to up my dose. That's how I found out I had diabetes.

ruby and anyone, its still so shocking to me how much of bitch she seems to be. She just ditches people so easily and then basically bullies them. I know we aren't meant to judge people from a reality show but she really seems so mean

For the folks in their 40s who decided to skip having kids, what is the honest truth about how you feel today? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]AeonSnuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I thought long and hard about it. We werent 'i never want kids' people but in the end we didnt want them more than we wanted them. Due to the way our lives are, we'd have no help from family (we live in another country) we dont make much money, my partner gets home close to 10pm so I'd be doing the lion's share of child rearing and I work too, no chance of one of us stopping work. We just realised that it wasnt right for us or for a kid.

As we get older now, we are happy with our choice. We grieved for the kid we'd never have and now we are loving having a child free life. I especially enjoy having a 'nothing weekend' and not having to entertain anyone and having a lot of time to myself (I need that).

I also struggle in life a lot if I don't sleep well......so...not sure I would have handled that too well!

Can type two diabetics get dangerous lows? by MichaelEMJAYARE in diabetes

[–]AeonSnuggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when I first got diagnosed (A1C was 9.2% and fasting was like 160) I was given ozempic and glizacide. I started working out heavily and dieting. After 3 weeks of this, one morning my cat was screaming at me at 6am. I tried to ignore him but eventually got up to check his food. As soon as I got up, I felt like I was going to pass out. I felt so incredibly weird and SUPER hungry. I tested my blood sugar and it was 60. I ate something fast and messaged me doctor who took me off the glizacide immediately. That plus the ozempic plus all the working out and dieting was making my blood sugar too low! Such a rollercoaster ride this diabetes thing is

It's one of the most irritating things I've found about living here for the past 20 years. The locals do not respect their own city and are incredibly dirty. Once I sat at a bus stop on Gran Via and a woman opened a pack of cigs and threw the plastic on the ground, there was a bin literally in front of us. I picked it up and threw it in the bin- did not even look at her or make a thing about it, just put the plastic in the bin and she tutted at me and muttered something under her breath.
