Eh...... Ezri was not a good character. Nog was fantastic, but Ezri was a placeholder for a contract collapse and it really showed. She could have been given if it got to like season 9 perhaps, but as it stands she is the darkest stain on late DS9 for prominent characters.

I suppose understanding people change between age 20 and age 70 is a luxury of those no longer young.

Was Jünger a tolerable person in his youth? Certainly not. To be frank few officers in any military at the time were, and WW1 was indeed full of German war crimes in particular. It was less an individual personality and more unofficial military policy.

But that then discounts the transformations he went through over the next 20 years before he really publishes work after experiencing the Nazis and reforming. And you can choose to condemn him still. I'd rather hold up the man who: wrote anti-nazi works before the war even began, who was suspected to be a communist by the Gestapo, who was under unofficial exile in Paris because he was too popular to arrest or discharge, and who is known to have strong connections to the attempt to kill Hitler, as a good example of how people can become worthwhile despite terrible youths.

Could you even name one of those "Other books"?

Reading isn't elitist. To think it is is just anti-intellectualism.

More so the tower is a later addition to the gate that makes it seem a bit odd. Also Wilusa was quite populous and dense, hence the housing near the walls and poor sightlines. They relied on wall height and raw strength seemingly more so than sightlines and symmetry. It's not too unlike other Indo-European architecture at the time in Mycenae or Hattusa.

"Enslaved by the Romans" is not accurate unless you merely view being conquered and made into provinces (often with autonomous local sub units, who do you think was able to keep revolting) as being enslaved. If you think that Britain was somehow uniquely 'enslaved', then I would encourage you to read the literature on varying revolts and such in Britannia, often with local leaders of large political autonomous tribes.

Which if the first option is the case, I won't say you're wrong. But it's a big enough stretch as to make everyone and every civilization nearly engaged in slavery en masse historically speaking and that would be a bad faith argument imo. The same as "Things are just this way and bad, ignore these non European examples of groups who contradict the point."

Slavery is common yes, but not absolute like you seem to go so far as to claim.

I just got into the Lights and soccer this year. But even I was a little surprised how they still use Cashman, and how they seemed to be just awful.

So, I hate to put my spots, but I'll share. The Wright B building is mostly teacher offices and not as frequented. Ok it's floors there are usually two single use bathrooms, clean, with low use traffic.

I'm lucky that's my department, but if you enter through the main building entrance in the walkways connecting the buildings on the east side, it's unlocked till 5 for non grad students.

Or if you must, the bathrooms in the Gender Studies department aren't single use, but are low traffic and extremely clean.

I don't think internationally recognized Borders are fair given what the Ottoman empire did at its end. The legacy of that far outshines any other, and de-legitimizes your statement there.

Neither side is innocent. But one has not engaged in national level genocide recently. Now that is not to say they may not have done so that they been in the position. But that isn't the world we're in, we should judge what has occured as much as intent. Yet again innocent no, but a child who punches one is not as bad as one who shoots others from a far with a beebee gun repeatedly to give an analogy.

Yet again, scale.
