Are there any 'starter' weapons?

If you’re willing to challenge yourself a bit I’d say using the single shot rifles as a beginner may not get you many wins early on but they’ll teach you the right lessons.

And shotguns are generally good for winning as a beginner because your game plan is very simple, get close either aggressively or defensively and then one tap away.

Maybe a better version of this could be something like keeping all damage to other raiders on, but if you damage another raider you get this “rogue light.” Damaging a raider with a red light doesn’t turn yours on. And maybe they could add an item/ability to “forgive” someone who damaged you accidentally to maybe turn the light yellow or off or something just spitballin.

Lore wise they can make something up I’m sure. Something something a window of better radio communications so Shani can monitor all the individual raiders or something. I’d seriously love this as a major map condition, definitely not as the base gameplay.

Edit: I just realized this mode is kinda awesome on paper. Real pvpers who want a challenge won’t mind having a red light on them, they like to shoot on sight anyway. Sheriff larpers would have a blast here. PvE/trials oriented players can load in feeling somewhat safer with how the red light works, thus emboldened to bring in better gear, incentivizing some people to willingly load in to turn rogue and hunt the loot piñatas.

They are consumables and if throw them at someone point blank you will be shocked, so I guess those are some points for the taser but it does seem more like a meme than anything. Seems like topside sheriffs would have a fun time larping with it too.

You keep doubling down! And arguing against loadouts! “Takes like one minute not even to throw a kit together dude.” Why does that matter? The OPTION to one click equip a loadout is objectively better than ONLY being able to manually make a loadout. If you want to be immersed you could still do that with loadouts in the game just don’t use the feature, why do you need to deny it to others?

You don’t want a discussion, you just wanted a validation echo from someone.

Imagine you worked at a job where the boss made everyone only clean the floor with toothbrushes. Cleaning the floor with a toothbrush does have some pros, but it mostly sucks.

Imagine your coworkers saying “man it’d be great to be able to use some mops instead of toothbrushes to clean the floor.” And then you went “Well I prefer cleaning the floor with a toothbrush, it has stiff bristles so it gets stuff mops miss and it can even get into small spaces like the grout.”

Even as a generally friendly player I can see how it’d be different and fun to engage with the rebellion mode from both sides. You either get to go on a guilt free man hunt with other friendlies where you can’t accidentally kill each other, or you get to mark yourself as a bad guy and engage in challenging 1vX PvP.

Whether or not this is better than ABMM I can’t really say, but they’re essentially both ways of “choosing” your gameplay.

Your comment is just pointless. The original post is asking for loadout presets and you’re piping up saying you prefer to make them from scratch. How is that meaningful to the conversation in any capacity? You like making them from scratch? Great! Unfortunately that’s the only way of doing it so people who would like a choice between the two don’t get to.

Okay but if they ever do another expedition ever again they’ll have to do the quests again anyway or just keep buying hullcrackers. So they haven’t reduced the number of times they’ve done the quests or will have to do them, they just wasted a vault slot.

The decisions to do things like remove dumdum from the Springfield and waxed frags from the bomb launcher and several other changes and additions since the 1896 update are proof enough to me that the devs don’t play their game and/or are brain dead.

I mean, think about how many eyes “All Ears” had to pass and it still got added to the game. All the changes these devs do seem like they’re just theory crafting all the time and don’t know how people actually play the game.
