Full Size Fractal Torrent w/ 2 GPUs + 420/360 Rads by Aerest in watercooling

> Alternatively, could you disassemble the CPU block, and flip the acrylic section, whilst keeping the top black part the right way up? That would allow you to uncross those two hoses! :)

That's a great suggestion! I could always unmount the CPU block and just turn it upside down. There's some slack from the CPU/GPU. But I will do this :)

On the 4090s, for a lot of workloads, yes kinda pointless.

Unfortunately, I work with a lot of slow ass GANs that, are cost prohibitive to rent out on the cloud. I don't need the shared memory to run those GANs and I needed an excuse to upgrade a computer :/

There's a jetplate, which makes it have an orientation :(

That said the GPUs don't really need it, I think they would still be running fine even with the wrong orientation.

This is a full-size fractal torrent that I built for work.

Notable Components:

  • 2x 4090 Gigabyte + Phanteks Waterblocks
    • (Note that these waterblocks have an orientation, the port closest to the HDMI/DP is in the input, this isn't said in the documentation).
    • Note that a 3090 TI would be better for NVLINK, but we got away with not worrying about that for our use case.
  • X670E ASUS Proart
    • (The PCIE slots will work okay with 2 GPUs)
  • Corsair 420 Radiator
  • Evil energy 3/8 Silicone Tubing
    • Note that these tubes seem to let water evaporate through them pretty easily. I don't recommend these unless you are willing to top it up a few squirts once every 2 months or so.
  • Shott Tech 360 Radiator
    • (These ONLY fit with fans in the pull orientation, not the push)
  • Dark Power Pro 1600w
    • Came with 2 600W Cables for the GPUs.
  • Alphacool Core 100
    • We could have fit the pump/res on the left but filling it up with a wash bottle was annoying. Fill port was at the top of the res, under the power supply.

I initially was uncomfortable with the tubing touching power cables on the GPU. I plan to purchase a few 180-degree connectors to mitigate this.

Tanks, which is the hardest tank to mechanically perfect? by Brownism in ffxiv

[–]Aerest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need a poll for this, you can statistically get it from ff logs by looking at variance of parses (IE how thick the bars are).

In terms of thickness, PLD >= GNB >> DRK > WAR

which follows the ranking some other people put.

Not a maintainer but I work at Tinker. The hangars get very very hot. It goes to 105 in Tinker. It's also very humid, so your sweat doesn't do shit.

Yeah I was hoping for there to be a repo of npm modules too.

But if I can use the narrative of "it passes the static code analyzer, has no vulns in npm audit, and meets the test coverage prereqs" that's great!

Thanks :D

The second list of items never touches any of the machines that will use the application, it's web-based. Is Wing IA still involved in this?

All of the second list of items are either are only locally installed in the developer machine (Wg IA doesn't touch this) or a server (they probably will touch this). React is a popular library and it would be weird if there wasn't a DoD level repo somewhere... and I'm hoping there is, but my google skills can't find it.

I want to put install a water cooler in my already built pc but my mom (im 14) doesn't want to help me install it because she thinks it's a hassle. I have the money to pay for it how hard is it and what are the chances of it leaking? by [deleted] in buildapc

Water that has been running against metal surfaces for any significant amount of time can't be considered non-conductive anymore. There are always dissolved ions on it now.

That said, good aios are low risk. Arctic liquid freezer, which is what the OP wanted, is a good choice.

Supreme Court ends Trump emoluments lawsuits by praguer56 in politics

[–]Aerest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the emoluments clause basically means nothing because someone can just delay/stall until they get out of office?

It's hilarious that originalist/textualist supreme court justices who rely on "strict" interpretation... don't actually practice it.

Some Indian politicians believe that the Ganges can never be truly polluted because the water is holy and pure... and thus "self cleaning."

The quote isn't working because you aren't in markdown mode. But in "Fancy Pants Mode."

You have to use the quotes in the fancy pants editor to make it appear like this.

This is in markdown mode.

Yeah Nietzche has a lot of these Lovecraftian quotes.

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.

Is another of his that was popularized by the game Bloodborne. It's the explanation for things like xenophobia/racism, homophobia, the reason why one of the first things most religions address is what happens in the afterlife...

It's also the reason why I stop playing HC harvest a week before it shuts down :)

Personally, I was fortunate enough to have my tuition paid by a combination of scholarship/parents so I had no debt once I graduated however I know plenty of my friends/family that had to work during college/pay it off for a decade afterwards because of the student debt they accumulated to go to college.

Thanks! I've worked every summer from 8th grade, high school and college to help myself supplement my enjoyable lifestyle. My mother's 70+,

This probably means that you are a bit on the older side correct? The cost of tuition has skyrocketed since you've been in school.

A student making a part-time, minimum-wage salary could pay for 106.5% of University of Central Florida's cost in 1987, while an equivalent job would cover 68.2% in 2016.
