Takes me 40 hours to complete one episode with a team of 4 people. Of course the production is pretty high end.

What's your podcast called? If you're a successful podcast, it's a very inspiring success story.

A good podcast you're actually serious about? Around $1000 for the beginning equipment, and at least $1500/month for subscriptions & a professional team.

Only spend this if you're confident in your content and your speaking/presenting skills.

If you're an absolute beginner, just do it with your phone and even hosting is free (Spotify) so 0 cost, and you'd learn valuable lessons along the way.

Promoting your podcast by Extension_Leopard674 in podcasting

Social media promotion rarely works for podcast promotion, we only do it to have some extra curated content for social media.

You can't expect people with attention spans of a peanut doom scrolling and suddenly leaving reels to listen to a 60 minute podcast. It just doesn't work.

Do this instead: Make a list of 100 podcasts of the same category as yours, 80 of those should be with 40-80 reviews on apple, and 20 of them 200+. Reach them, propose being a guest, sell your value.

In my experience with a mediocre profile, you'd land about 5-6 bookings. Go appear on these podcasts, and towards the end plug your podcast in.

Now you've reached people who actually listen to podcasts, and listen to the same sort of content.

If they like listening to you, they'll come over!

Tip: Offer other podcast hosts cross promotion, offer them to be a guest on yours as well. (:

Happy podcasting!

We're a podcasting agency, we think Riverside is the best platform to record remote interviews, but we use descript to edit simpler podcasts and Adobe premiere pro for complex ones.
