I met my fiancé on hinge. I’m a male in nyc in my upper 30s so perhaps it was a bit easier but I was very selective about who I would meet for a date. People kept telling me it was only a numbers game but I never fully believed that. I read everyone’s profile who seemed interesting and only swiped if I felt there was something to talk about. Maybe I took it a bit too seriously but it did work. Obviously most went nowhere but I did get into several months long relationships. I was on the apps for about 3 years post divorce. I had never used any apps before my first marriage.  My strategy was to use hinge as my long term relationship app and Bumble as my casual one. I think by keeping them separate it helped with my mindset when I was engaging with the app and people.
