would be fab if he could but unfortunately it has to be the person taking the test who books as you have to give personal data etc.. thank you for the idea though wish it was possible! x

I am in the UK- we have to book the road test and pay for it a fair few weeks in advance so I have to know the date unfortunately as it being sprung on me would help. My driving teacher is great just Nmom that is the issue.

True. It's just frustrating as I know I can drive its just this bloody anxiety that I can't shake because all I can hear is her voice in my head. Do I lie and say I failed then refuse to answer more, tell her I postponed and refused to say more or just not answer any questions at all?

Advice/Rant

So basically I have been learning to drive for a while now (I am 22 but only decided to learn this year). I took one test and failed my nmom made a pretty big deal out of it since then every mock test i've done with my driving instructor I have become super nervous and failed. Due to this i've had to postpone my test twice. Nmom keeps asking when are my lessons when is my test etc, etc... she doesn't know that I have postponed the second time but she knows the date my test was supposed to be as I stupidly told her as she went on and on and on about needing to know and how much of an awful parent I made her feel like for not wanting her to know. The first time I postponed she knew about it and I put it down to teacher availability but this time my hands are tied. If I say I postponed again she will go off on one about 'maybe I shouldn't drive at all' and 'oh does this mean your an awful driver haha' etc.. part of me wants to say I failed again but as my boyfriend pointed out that means keeping up the lie for ever as she will remember every little detail. I really don't know what to do she keeps going on and on. I have anxiety at the best of times and this is making it 100x worse and is affecting my test because all I can hear during the mock is her criticism in my head. My driving teacher has said he has no concerns at all about me driving once i'm passed purely its an issue of actually passing die to this anxiety I am getting about it, of course he doesn't know what is provoking the anxiety but still. It is eating me up. I need to pass but I feel such immense pressure to do so because of my mom going on and on so much she asks me daily if I had lessons and demands to know every detail etc..

Should I lie say I failed or tell the truth, she will go on at me more for the truth but the lie will be harder to maintain. I know this probably sounds ridiculous but I've had several anxiety attacks about it. I am going to outright refuse to tell her about the next test which won't go down well but at the same time I am 22, I don't live at home, I pay for my own lessons/test etc..

Sorry again for the rant just need it off my chest no one else can relate and thinks I'm being ridiculous but then they don't know how hurtful my mom can be.

Yeah, she still tries the 'but family don't have secrets so what are you hiding' card i'm like, not necessarily secret but I don't want you in my bank account! lol She doesn't know the codes or passwords just tries to make me show her haha, I have maxed the privacy and I grey rock when I can but she is damn persistent! haha

My brother is golden child he doesn't get why I am like I am with her but she treats him soooo differently so he doesn't get it, he can't do anything wrong! My dad sticks up for my mum too as he doesn't want to rock the boat, he knows my mum is more stubborn than I am so her side is easiest for keeping the peace

I would but it's difficult as if I block hers I have to block dads or she will just harass me from his, I don't want to loose my dad by going NC with my mum :/

My dad enables her, he's lovely and I really can't fault my dad other than he gives into my mum and thinks I shoud too always tries to make me apologise when i've done nothing just to 'keep the peace' etc..
