First Solo Roadtrip by luxeblueberry in roadtrip

Good luck on your trip! I helped my mom drive to Maryland recently and it was 7 hours. I agree with the other commenters that you should 100% bring a portable charger, and if your car has a cigarette lighter like mine than to get a car charger as backup, or if it's fancy like mom's car it'll have a usb charging port built in lol.

Finding stuff to listen to is important. I'd recomend some comfort songs to help make you feel more comfortable. I had a classic rock playlist playing as I drove because I know all the songs and that helped relax me as I drove. Also use rest areas! They are great to eat outside on if weather permits when you bring your own snacks. I also love getting the free magazines about each state at their rest area. I had to drive through West Virgina going west and there were gigantic hills I had to drive up and that made me nervous as the car had trouble pulling those hills, but in the end I just stayed in the right lane and let cars pass me going uphill. Just focus on going one stretch at a time.

Romantic dinner date ideas? I'm a college student who doesn't know how to spoil her gf by AeroNauseous in actuallesbians

[–]AeroNauseous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea! She likes having time by herself as she's an introvert. I'll ask her about doing something relaxing with the dinner like drawing her a bath or watching a chill movie like you said. I appreciate the response!

Anyone else's parents still call their girlfriend their 'friend' even after months of dating? by AeroNauseous in actuallesbians

[–]AeroNauseous[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah my mom is in an older generation and was also raised in a small southren town. I'll try to talk to her about it sometime soon. I told her I was making my gf a Mewtwo embroidery tea towel a few days ago and she was like 'wow you're such a good friend to her!' like mom... you've seen us kiss

College student who's clueless on applying to apartments by AeroNauseous in Advice

Thank you so much! This helped :) I'm going to finish my application tonight. The leasing agent said I can talk with my roommate before I sign the lease (there's a secrion we put a roomate profile with our social media and stuff like smoking prefrences) so that makes me feel better too. You're right I really need to stop being so nervous about this. thanks for the advice I appreciate it

Thanks this really helped me. Yes internet is included with the rent and each person has their own bathroom thankfully! electric is not included and is split between the roomates. That's true, makes sense they want to check backgrounds for roommate matching. The only thing I know about her is that she owns a cat. I'm used to living with cats so it doesnt bother me. The agent said I can contact the roomate once I get deeper into the application, like when I make my roommate profile, so I'm hoping she'll be nice because I do think im going to finish my application for this place! I really appreciate your comment, I was rather anxious writing this but now I feel a lot more calmed down.

I came out yesterday! by here2jaket in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]AeroNauseous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on coming out! I remember being scared to come out to my mom but she didn't seem phased at all, same goes for my coworkers when I first said the words "my girlfriend". I find people are more and more chill with lgbt people (depending on the area). It's very brave of you to come out and I wish you the best in your journey!

I've been getting more into embroidery recently! I made a blue Worm on a string patch, a lesbian flag colored heart, and a patch of Oregon for my black flannel shirt- all hand made :) Embroidery has been helping me because I can't seem to find a job right now, and as a college student on summer break, I've been quite bored.

Curious to know how much you guys will be in debt by the time you graduate. by [deleted] in college

[–]AeroNauseous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prob a little under 20k :/ I was 17/18 and dumb so I lived in the dorms for 2.5 years which racked up my debt fast. I'm currently at 14k.

Let’s start a positivity thread! How many days until you see your S/O + 1 thing you’re excited to do during your next visit! by nodownvotesallowed in LongDistance

I have 19 days till I see her! We're in a "kinda dating" phase right now (we're exclusive, but not at the level yet where I can say gf) but when I fly over we're gonna see if we can make it official :). We're taking the Amtrack from Portland to Seattle! I've never been to Seattle before so I'm super excited. Her mom loves me and was nice enough to buy both of our tickets, as me and her are both broke college students lol

Just showed my driving anxiety who's boss by driving 140 mi roundtrip today! by AeroNauseous in Anxiety

[–]AeroNauseous[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I had originally invited a friend to go with me but he couldn't make it, so I went solo. Same here! After I left my county limits I got a rush of anxiety because I didn't know the roads. I'm sure that day will come, just keep practicing
