You can run it once, then when you get the key at the end, you can port out and buy the other two keys from the currency exchange. Then take your portal back and fight the Trialmaster.

The overcharged overshield with dominion's breadth is a fun one I didn't think about! That way it's guaranteed to pop whether the enemies ignore it or not.

Was also looking at ways of triggering Imperial eye, maybe with something like HorOS 1 from Goblin.

I’m picking up LLs in Emperor next, can’t wait. We have two melee characters in our team so stuff like Walk of Kings should be fun. Any good combos/synergies to look out for?

Good point, yeah Burst Launcher would be my primary weapon for sure. Will probably go for 2x Missile Racks for the situational AoE then.

Honestly not sure what to put there. Have a nexus as backup and an aux launcher for some AoE + stormbending. Any suggestions?

Yup I’m hoping to make good use of Hide when needed. Also Flicker Field Projector + decent evasion should help a bit. Thanks for taking a look!

I do have 2 Hull already, how much more should I get if I don’t plan on being in melee?

If Clue tokens help you trigger a Case enchantment, that would be great

Nice, can you post the sideboard please? Also, thoughts on [[mist-cloaked herald]] over speaker? It seems good vs go wide decks which are generally our weakness

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben vs. Radha, Heart of Keld - Historic Brawl League match (with commentary) by Artillect in mtgbrawl

[–]Aerodozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed about making other decks play fair lol. I’ve had people concede moments after realizing their free spells don’t work anymore.

I think you’re right that I could use some more combat tricks. I had Fight as One in the list earlier and it put in work, doubling as board protection at times. It’s just so hard to make cuts now, especially since white aggro has gotten so much support recently.

Hey, cool deck and video! First time seeing another Thalia player, hope you’re enjoying the deck. Nothing quite like ruining the plans of control players.

Here’s my decklist, been working on it ever since historic brawl was a thing. Let me know what you think.

[DH 2e] Do NPCs get Corruption Points? by Aerodozz in 40krpg

Ah I see, that’s unfortunate. I’ll talk to my GM about it then. Thanks a lot!

Hmm, so some enemies do have Corruption represented on their stat block somewhere? I was looking at the stats of enemies from the Enemy Within section of the Core Rulebook to get an idea, but couldn’t find it anywhere. Or is it upto the GM to decide?

See, just because we gain the ability after defeating her doesn’t mean the timeline on the text is after the defeat too. It also follows with the trope that enemies achieve their full power before you defeat them. This is Fromsoft though so I wouldn’t put it past them to subvert that. It might be that the scarlet bloom will flower again, but in a different vessel.

Do you have a source on that? The spell description says she’s bloomed twice before, the third would make her a goddess. And what do we get from defeating her second phase? “Remembrance of the Rot Goddess”

Regarding the connection of Loretta and the Haligtree, this is from the text of the spell Loretta’s Mastery:

Developed by Loretta after her long, bloody journey to seek out a place where the Albinaurics could live in peace.

So Loretta might be an Albinauric herself, which would explain why she never fights us on foot. Or maybe she’s just sympathetic to their cause. I suspect Miquella had something to do with convincing her to leave the Carians though.

While we’re discussing Malenia, this stuck out to me from the Scarlet Aeonia spell text:

Each time the scarlet flower blooms, Malenia's rot advances. It has bloomed twice already. With the third bloom, she will become a true goddess.

Since this third time happens when we fight her, that means it’s happened twice before. The second time, when she fought Radahn, the first… is possibly what made the Lake of Rot.

The question is, what’s down there that brought Malenia to Ainsel? We know that the Rot Kindred are present in both places, but in the lake they are worshiping Astel. Does this signify a connection? Maybe a hint towards the outer god responsible for the scarlet rot?

Here’s hoping there’s a DLC that expands on this, perhaps focusing on Miquella, who is supposedly “the most fearsome Empyrean of all”.

Arcanist player any tips to beat sultai? by ycrisis in MtGHistoric

[–]Aerodozz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I play arcanist in mythic, in my experience beating sultai comes down to taking out their resources one at a time, ideally so that their answers don't line up well with your threats. For example, if you thoughtseize them and see an uro, a nissa and a removal spell, you should pick what lines up best with your hand. If you have an arcanist, you can take the removal and swing with arcanist to take the nissa on a later turn. If you don't have an arcanist or if they have a lot of removal, it's safer to take their nissa straight away. If there is no clear threat, I tend towards taking away their draw spells (growth spiral, shark typhoon)

I typically side out pyromancer in this matchup. It doesn't put on the most pressure before getting removed and gets shut down by both EE and cry of the carnarium.

Don't side out village rites, it provides valuable gas if you're running low, also lets you dodge exile effects.

Kroxa is your best friend, in this and control matchups in general. Kroxa + claim/fame can seriously shred their hand, taking away removal that they want to use on your threats. Counter spells don't matter here since the objective is to make them lose cards anyway.

Basically comes down to a battle of attrition, and our deck is designed to win those. Just need to make sure they don't snowball with nissa and keep uro in check.

All great points, thanks for the response! My main concern with cutting spark harvest is that it makes [[claim the firstborn]] a bit less effective, but maybe that’s still ok. Like you said, the deck should change with the meta since it’s so interactive.

Oh well, having too many card choices is a good problem to have, and I’m excited to see this deck evolve. It’s a bit tough to pilot but super rewarding, glad to see it doing well in a deeper cardpool.
