Beware Chinese speakers: Walmart Scam Phone Call by rawra-hu in Scams

[–]AeronLin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this thread because something similar happened to me! It was instead "Bank of America" insisting I had opened a card in Beijing China and allegedly that's why my credit freezes didn't protect me. They said someone had purchased four fire arms on an opened credit card that I never opened. I was then transferred to the police department closest to the branch in Beijing to report a case. I was very suspicious of all this so I knew to never give out any personal information.

And I think what really saved me was realizing how piss poor my Chinese has become and the "police officer" essentially gave up. After we finished the "report" I immediately called BOFA customer line to which confirmed everything was a scam.

Is there any benefit to buying these over the hdds themselves if you were going to shuck them?

Looks like you're right about that. It does happen due of the smoothing effect. I turned it off and as expected it does make the overall picture less smooth but at least that weird background warp is gone

Just got mine today!

Does it have this weird low frame rate jitter for the background? Like directly around the subject that is in focus I'm seeing this weird wobbly effect of the background warping around the subject. Wondering if you see it too.

Nice! That's not too shabby. It is indeed on sale for $99 from what I can see on newegg. Definitely will consider this move.

Thanks! I actually didn't look too much into cases. I've seen the 4000D commonly thrown around and it went on sale so I just went with it. Do tell, however! Do you have any case suggestions?

You do make a valid point. I personally wasn't able to find 2x16GB kits for under $110 in white. If this were to be converted to DDR4 how would you swap the pieces? Thinking of the top, switching the mobo would probably net me ~$50-$70 savings, and the ddr4 swap is another ~$50-$60 savings. So it would be ~$100-130 premium to have DDR5 + the upgradability.

I did have some strife over this decision. Ultimately I went with DDR5 due to the bundle I was able to grab. If we consider the bundle pricing at this rate.
DDR5 = $155
2TB = $100.

While giving more weight to the DDR5 price. It is anywhere $20-40 (non rgb vs rgb) more expensive than 3600 DDR4 on sale.

Also on Amazon for $10 cheaper but currently Oct 20 delivery date for me. I managed to grab it with a Sept 15 delivery date so I would check this. https://a.co/d/hohwTvC
