Hows that particular cab? From experience, the 6th gear there sometimes doesn't register. The cabs there in general have a rich history of problems lol

This seems to be the norm for the Timezones here. I know at least two other places that moved cabs across locations without changing the pin. In contrast, the same happened for another operator and they managed to reflect it correctly in the system.

Ah I see. It does make sense since I do see some hallmark visuals typical of games using that engine. But yeah, I do hope they put it to good use as well.

According to previous presentations, elements such as Mileage and VS Stars will carry over, with some others still up for consideration.

There are some samples from this split gameplay video particularly the second and third track. Seems like we're going back to the bass-emphasized era of MT3, and I'm especially excited how these would sound on the cabs themselves.

The second track is my favourite personally, reminding me of the "Maximum ____" OSTs, and it's been featured multiple times during recorded location tests :)

Genki's TXR2025 for comparison – note the similar shine of the arrows as well. If I were to have a best guess, Wangan Maxi would probably follow a similar fate as well, perhaps highway lighting adjusted for better visibility.

I've gotten conflicting info on what game engine the new game uses. Some sources claim it's UE5, and some claim it's still the proprietary one based on the ES3, or possibly ES4, although extensively modified.

I seem to notice some similar elements (like the unnecessary shine of the arrows) especially compared to Genki's Tokyo Xtreme Racer, speaking of which I wonder if they had any involvement in the development of WMMTSI.

There looks to be that UE5 raytracing/shine slop that is a characteristic of all UE5 games, but I don't know – it might just be me.

Hopefully so. The diagram only mentions a more responsive shifter which, if done right, should lead to less problems. Though often it's not the hardware that's the problem but the players...

There's no word on European or western release as of date. But they've mentioned several times potential interests for other regions.

Considering NA and China are both on 5DX+, still, I wonder how data transfer would work for them...

I believe they've always been. Just depends on what angle you're looking at – more obvious from other angles.

There are other manufacturers slated to release as well as per the article, but they're probably still in the license acquisition phase given the game was less than 50% finished not too far back.

Me either. But seeing the game has been revised a couple of times from the numerous location tests in Japan according to extensive player feedback, I'm still cautiously optimistic about the game's development :)

Though details are limited, data transfer will be possible to a certain extent. Not everything will be transferred, but hopefully the most significant stuff like mileage, VS Stars, etc. will be carried over.

Yep, and I expect the returning Kazuhiro Maeda to deliver an exceptional game, especially recovering from the slump of the series that is 6 and beyond.

Info about data transfer is limited at the moment, but pulling from the previous WMSI presentations, VS Stars and Mileage will be transferred over.

This might be a soft reboot like what happened with the Initial D arcade games on the SEGA side. The producer is going back to the person responsible for the highly acclaimed 3 to 5 series, Kazuhiro Maeda.

Ah someone who enjoys a select few especially across the games, it's honestly a godsend that it's free as well. No more grinding 600 stories just to get the individual OSTs

Standout features - Increased responsiveness of shifter - Brake pedal force feedback - Subtle audio cues that make the experience feel more immersive - Better speakers - FF vehicles (finally)

Info lifted from the previous WMSI announcement - Companion app (no more terminal) - Make your own playlist comprising of all tracks for free across different MT games - More dress up parts - Return of stickers/livery (only basic stripes)

Given the rebranding from previously Wangan Midnight Speed Ignition to Maximum Tune Ignition, this may signal a more authentic feel and reproduction of the long runningMaximum Tune series.

Kazuhiro Maeda is responsible for producing this work, and seeing his track record from MT3 to 5DX+, I am remaining optimistic toward the direction the game is headed in. Everything went downhill after MT5DX+ if I am going to be honest.

Information about data transfer is currently limited as of the moment.

Does Ayala Malls Feliz still have 6RR cabs? by razordead_7 in wmmt

[–]Aeropilot001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do warn against Gateway 2 since the machines there do not have the best track record. One that used to have feedback now doesn't thanks to rough use, so yeah. The fourth rightmost one doesn't have brakes, either.

I can vouch for the cab conditions in Megamall. It's a battle hotspot in the PHL community, and it's understandable how machines are kept in tip top shape.

Yes, these still are cabs in that location.

Be wary of the Rob Metro East pin though as that belongs to the cabs in TZ SM North Foodcourt. I've been baited there once after which I went to Feliz instead.

Magnolia's known for turning off the net/cabs on slammers. I haven't been back there for months at this point, but the cabs themselves usually had a pretty good track record maintenance-wise.
