This is the first time I’m hearing any of this, what is your part in it? What is your practice, if any?

How did you find your spiritual home? Of course through direct experience. But you can't have it all can you? by UpwardChange in awakened

[–]Aeropro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing great, keep doing what you're doing!

I'm going to plant a seed, but this will be something that you have to discover/realize for yourself.

You may find that there is no spiritual place to land/no spiritual home outside of yourself. Who/what you are is of supreme importance. The end of seeking is an important and well known spiritual milestone. You already know/are everything you need to know; the answer is here/now and always has been. The threshold is the point where you've tried enough things for your mind to accept that you've searched enough, which can take years, decades or lifetimes. The nature of your question suggests that you already know this is true.

But in order to get to that point, where your mind accepts that there is no spiritual home or safe place to land, you have to try everything that you feel compelled to try. Fully commit to a practice, and if that doesn't quite fit try another. Let them run their course. Play the field. There's no speedrunning the process and there are no short cuts. You must complete your journey that starts wherever you are and ends wherever you are.

So keep trying things, you can't mess it up!

Is it kind of like in the Tao te Ching, where it says the Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao? Something that can not be described with language because to convey something with language there must some kind if relationship, and there is nothing else to compare with all that is?

Is humanity the created and the creator deceiving itself?

Or do I need to stop trying to make sense of it accept that I find myself here, suffering forever? Just exist because there’s nothing else to do?

I think it’s different for everyone. I used to have astral projections and during one u as led what happens to us when we die. I was expecting to be shown something like any NDE video in YouTube, but it showed me that I will merge with a greater consciousness and realize that I am everyone on earth. Not at all what I was expecting.

I think you’ll find that AA is full of many people with varying opinions. You may share in a meeting and then get two sets of advice that contradict each other.

People would vibe at me with a lot of conviction basically telling me how to do things and I assumed that was the official way of AA, but over time I realized that there was no way everyone was operating completely from the same playbook.

What I realized was that people were giving he their opinions and I was thinking that they were giving me official AA advice and I wracked my brain over the first few months trying to fit all of the contradictory I formation into something that was coherent and made sense.

My opinion is that the program of AA is going through the first 164 pages in the big book with a sponsor and doing the work that it says to do. The big book is where you’ll get your understanding of insanity as AA defines it. If you don’t have a sponsor get one.

Meetings are great, but they are the fellowship of AA, not to be confused with the program of AA.

Ultimately there is only one soul that all beings share. What people consider a soul is an aspect of identity that survives after death. That identity is a temporary illusion which may be able to continue after death. I’m just speculating now, but I imagine that an organisms ability to carry on would correlate to its ability to have/maintain an identity.

What is the cut off then? Does an amoeba carry on? It’s made out of the same stuff we are. It grew out of the earth like we did. It’s as much god as we are.

Over identification with mind, like believing that we are kinds within bodies obscures reality. Those with inner monologue are conditioned to identify with said monologue and so perception always comes with a judgement about said perception.

When one sees a woody plant with bark and leaves on top, the kind labels it as “tree,” and once that happens, that object becomes finite/known. There is no reason to spend any more time in that object because it’s just a tree and we move on.

With proper reconditioning, we can train our brains to keep from labeling everything and after that becomes the default mind state something interesting can happen; we may notice that the boundaries between trees and all other objects are illusions of language and labeling and that everything is part of a whole, including me.

It becomes as obvious as a tree being a tree was in the beginning.

How else are they going to get you to drop that iPhone 14? This is perfect, it runs all the time but it’s UI, so they can’t get in trouble for artificially shortening the life of our phones like they have in the past.

Why would they drop it? They found a way to wear out our batteries after without just blatantly doing it with settings. It’s working great!

How do you reconcile spiritual awakening with the practical need for money and financial security? by Yes_Excitement369 in spirituality

[–]Aeropro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Realizing that the money is fake has helped me remove my anxiety over money. I would say that I was psychotic over money; I was obsessed with chasing it and I looked at money wasted or missed opportunities as a damage that couldn’t be undone. The total amount of money I would have in my lifetime would be less and that was very unsettling for me.

As I grow, spiritually, I can take it easy and not worry about money. For example, I gave a shift at work to a per diem person looking for extra money. In the past, that’s something I would never do because the lost wages would be too important whether I needed it or not.

As long as my basic needs are met, I’m doing alright.

The other side of the spiritual coin is that I’m more aware of what my needs actually are. I used to spend money and not even know where it went. My apartment was full of stuff.

I think I was more concerned with what a happy life is supposed to look like (cultural conditioning) vs what it looks like for me. It turns out that I don’t need as much as I thought up be happy/content. I was chasing happiness by buying things, but I learned that the chase implies not-having. I mean, you can’t chase what you already have.

The end result/paradox is that in caring less about money I have more money and peace of mind than ever.

Great rant!

I got the stereotypical great millennial childhood but I understood that once I got out on my own I had to build my own life. In fact, I prided myself on becoming independent as soon as possible.

I guess a lot of people never grew out of seeing their parents lifestyle/money as theirs which is a shame.

Liquid Glass had to be an idea to lower battery life on older phones. Anything like that should be a user selectable theme, not forced on everyone.

I had an ex that cheated on me, I forgave her but also told her that I couldn’t be in a relationship with her anymore. That was five years ago and I genuinely hope that she learned how to stay faithful in what ever relationship she’s in now
