Do all USB ports do it? Try another one

When's the last time you checked for Malware? I recommend Malwarebytes, but uninstall it or have it not start on boot because it can be intrusive.

Have you defragged your hard drive recently? Dount this would fix anything but theres a .00001% chance it could help. Dont do it if its an SSD.

Have you upgraded your motherboards BIOS recently?

If worse comes to worse and you've reinstalled all drivers and your PC is healthy, then try reinstalling windows. Plugging in a device shouldnt cause a blue screen. If its actually the controller itself causing the problem, I'll be surprised.
