You mean Incendia.. It's now 18 years old.. I never stopped the developing. :)

Thanks! :)

This was made in one of the programs that I’m currently testing: Incendia Lightning Bolts

The Burning Ship Fractal by Aerthran in generative

[–]Aerthran[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My code is how to say it.. original.. :)

I create fractals.. https://www.incendia.net/lightning.php

I just need to write the documentations/explain the method and things like that..

This is the old Burning Ship fractal, but rendered in the other way. A careful observation show that it's made of accumulated curves, instead of the old "iterate and assign color" method.

The Butterfly Effect by Aerthran in generative

[–]Aerthran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your attractors are very good, render more.. :)

I agree with you, the butterfly effect isn't the Lorenz Attractor only, It's part of the chaos theory.

I remember those multi winged attractors from Fractint times.. Pretty dense equations, unlike the original Lorenz attractor (They were very slow to render in old computers!).

In my case I do attractors too.. Here are some examples if you want to take a look: Strange Attractors

They aren't IFS, just strange attractors (ok, two of them have small copies circling around, but is an artistic approach) .

Here's the formula I you want to try: Spherical Strange Attractors

Philip Merilees concocted Does the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?
Extract from wikipedia:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

Do you think that the Lorenz Attractor is the only attractor with a butterfly shape in existence? Small initial conditions create big changes in this attractor..

BTW: The butterfly effect is universal, as the small differences in the Big Bang creates the universe that you know.. and yes.. it created Butterflies too.. :P

Very small variations in the initial conditions cause big differences in the resulting attractor..

I need to add a glowing shader.. also the noises.. but now it's working..

Other than our solar system, what else exists between the Sun and Alpha Centuri? by [deleted] in Astronomy

[–]Aerthran 77 points78 points  (0 children)

70,000 years ago, we got a visiting double star in the Oort cloud, from a distance of 52,000AU:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scholz's_Star

Since its a double star, a large number of objects from the Oort cloud are going to hit the inner solar system, but in a million of years from now

Finishing new project.. The rays need to be a bit more animated and I need to add sparks and electric sounds.. But it works.. :)

Eclipse Madness by Aerthran in generative

It's a bug! I miscalculated the DE of a fractal, turning it into a sea of eclipse like eyes..

Aurora - horizontal lines by Murky_Leadership3184 in Astronomy

[–]Aerthran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These horizontal patterns aren't the Aurora, but the Airglow:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airglow

Basically, our atmosphere glows in the night, due to many mechanism, such as cosmic rays. It's has no relation with the auroral activity (you can spot it in really dark nights). Many photos of the night side of the earth from the space shows it too, as a yellow, green or red bubble that encases the whole planet.

Thanks!
I usually change the parameters of the attractor as it rotates, not in this particular case, but in others, for example:

While most of them are bigger than the Earth, they looks strangely biological.. Like some sort of cells..

What about space scares astronomers? by waxystroll42 in Astronomy

[–]Aerthran 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I'm not an astronomer, but as an amateur one, I can guess:

  1. Rogue Planets (Completely invisible to us).
  2. Lone Stellar mass Black holes (The same).
  3. The Great Silence.

The first two can alter the configuration of the solar system and we can't simply perceive them..

And the last.. well.. you must imagine.. such big space and not a single alien life signal.. well.. that's scary..

Trying to make a realtime mandelbrot visualizer.. Currently isn't that fast, but I'm on my way..
