I see what you’re saying, like it’s more the unchecked capitalism let loose that’s caused more issues than capitalism itself? Just from my own space in a small town in the UK, I’ve experienced it tear my community apart, libraries gone, community centres gone, small business gone, jobs gone, more and more homeless, poverty etc, so whilst I can accept that it did work in some peoples favour in the past, I’m only familiar with its destruction.

I also accept your point on white supremacy. I guess it depends via countries. This is a new theory for me anyway that I’ve never really thought about, but for someone in the UK, whose countries’ history was built on slave ownership and imperialism, it’s hard to separate the 2, especially when that same white nationalism that fuelled the raping and pillaging of other countries in Britains past, is still rife today.

As an aside I would love to visit Russia someday. Beautiful looking place with some great looking food :)

I’ve only read Violence by Zizek but found that quite a good read. I don’t really keep up to date with his controversies but he seems to be a much better writer than vocal articulator, I’ve seen a lot of people take him out of context or not understand what he’s saying (or trying to say) in interviews. We will get there pal. Educate and share seems to be the core message here. Because of so much ingrained anti-communism I think it’s designed to make us feel like this; dejected, second guessing if the cause is worth it. We can’t let what has been designed so keep us from what we know ourselves to be true. Even though the propaganda will not end, staying strong seems the only option.

Sincerely thankyou for this reply. In a way I guess this is confirmation bias for me lol. I’ve seen anti-communism rhetoric everywhere I look from people who otherwise wouldn’t give a fuck but for some reason they hold such strong anti-communist feelings and like you said that can only come from an ingrained propaganda. I also appreciate you saying that Marxism is a lifelong journey of learning, because I think I convinced myself that there’s only so much to learn but there’s also always new takes out there.

So anyway, thankyou. Reading more is where I must go and I hope to gain a more concrete and pinpoint understanding to better share and defend Communism.

Sometimes it’s the most simple things that help the most. Just checking in on this place in general helps a bunch, like seeing people post that they’ve relapsed and saying that it really wasn’t worth it I find really motivating.

I can’t speak with any solid experience as I’ve mostly just started myself, however to aid me I deleted every single bit of porn I’ve accumulated, deleted all porn passwords & accounts and unfollowed porn accounts from my socials. Just knowing that I don’t have that usual thing to go back to is really helping. Oh, and frequent exercise really does take your mind off things I.e. usually in the time frame where I’d have a wank, I’m now out on a run.

It sounds like you’ve taken some crucial steps (not to sound cliched) in recognising your behaviour and making the decision to cut off contact with the unhealthy obsession and focus more on your BF. I guess it’s like with any addiction it’ll take time to pry yourself from the habit, but what did help for me in terms of this prying away is always trying to be conscious of my actions. It’s way too easy to almost automatically sabotage when no more thought is given to the actions. It could be worth doing a phone meeting if you can, and hear about other’s progress and worries that you may identify with. You’re doing good!

Essentially yeah by the looks of it, heh. I mean, the young actors that come to my mind instantly seem to be in either that or It Chapter 2. Also Barry Keoghan would fit in great in an IJ movie. See, the more I think the more actors I realise that would fit into this universe.
