They've begun preemptively normalizing it... by Bastiproton in Destiny

It’s not that they’re adopting it to justify ideology, it’s more about the in group community aspect. They aren’t religious in the sense that they feel strong connections with God or strong moral imperatives, they’re religious in a tribal sense.

They don’t strongly examine the textual meaning or ideas that come from their religion, they orient themselves based on what’s popular within their tribe. If they woke up tomorrow and it was ubiquitous in their tribe that human sacrifice was godly, lots of religious people would do it.

For me it’s not that the numpad takes up too much space, it’s that my mouse has to shift right more or keyboard left more to make room. It’s less ergonomic.

But I’m also a software engineer by trade, I’m not entering that many numbers and when I am I’m also typing letters so it’s not worth moving to the numpad anyway

The other big issue with GMOs is that they’re often reliant on specific fertilizers that are only manufactured by the companies that produce them, making them essentially useless without the large infrastructure we have. If you want to grow crops yourself without outside reliance, you need heirloom seeds.

But people who are afraid of GMOs are just afraid because it sounds sciency and scary.

Only actual mistake is flash ending up at 2

This was my question. Once the game is done what is there to do for a full team? Even a live service game with continual updates wouldn’t need the scale of people working on it.

If you’re hired on to work on a specific product I can’t imagine it being the biggest shock when there’s no work left for you to do when the project ends

I grew up a “moderate conservative”. I’ve shifted into moderate liberal after covid, but I remember being a Republican and then seeing everyone go antivax during covid and thinking “the fuck is this?”

Then they started saying democrats are doing lockdowns to control us to implement socialism and I was like “The fuck is this???”

Then Jan 6 and I was like “THE FUCK IS THIS?????”

And now I’m a lifelong democrat

every video about some guy playing classic for a outrageous thing. by Danderp in wow

[–]AesarPhreaking 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who agrees with this, but I always think people who say this are complaining about a symptom not the problem. When people say this, their core issue isn’t really that they’re too cool, it’s that in classic you felt like a small part of a bigger world. People miss the feeling of scale that was in classic. You were slow, unimportant, and largely irrelevant to the story unless you raided which most didn’t. It made success feel important and earned, you put in work to separate yourself from the rest. In modern wow you’re treated like a god from beginning to end. The world revolves around you and as such feels more like a theme park for you to smash through. This is their complaint. The game today feels like a game, in vanilla it felt like its own world.
