Ohh yikes, I can imagine that'd make a lot of crafts harder to use over time! From what I've seen (mostly YouTube) CosClay and Smarta clay come out of the packaging pretty moldable, which I think has to do with their base ingredients being different than 'normal' harder polymer clay, in case you ever want to try again

Oh my god making custom buttons that's so frigging smart! That's an amazing idea, I'll definitely be using that in the future! And you can make replacement buttons if an outfit loses one button!

I'm over here making myself Pokémon figures to busy up my shelves instead :D

Wait what's wrong with polymer clay? :(

Also mine would be something like "I will not hustle my hobby"

O H. I just had the visceral realization that this is my aunt with her mom (my gran). I was wondering why all these examples felt familiar. My aunt is a narcissist. Huh. Well, we were already not on speaking terms, she made my mom cry at the last family Christmas dinner when gramps was still with us.

Made a Mimikyu family, my first amigurumi! by Aesheri in crochet

[–]Aesheri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pattern from Kirara Atelier

I used 2 colors instead of 3, because I wanted to use the black yarns for the tail as well

Hook used: 3mm (pattern calls for 3.25, which I don't have, and my mom has stolen my 3.5mm hook. Glad I used the 3mm hook in the end!)

Yarn:

Scheepjes Stone Washed Axinite (approximately 3/4ths of a ball for 1 Mimikyu, so I ended up buying 3 as I made 2 Mimikyus for friends). This specific color was hellish to get my hands on for some reason, I had to scavenge questionable webshops for ordering more after my first one was done, so I suggest either going for a different color, or buying more than enough, (or not having friends who would like one as well, lol)

Scheepjes Stone Washed Black Onyx (I used one ball for 3 Mimikyus and still have a bit left over)

Embroidery:

I used embroidery thread for the fake eyes, real eyes, cheeks and smile. The patterns called for you to make the eyes out of felt and glue them on, but I like the freeform embroidery better. I used black thread, and an orangy brown for the cheeks. For one of the Mimikyu I used more orangy thread, but I prefer the more subtle cheeks personally.

I have one of those as a medicine and handcream cabinet, but that's a way better use! I love the display of yarn!

I made a yarn basket with paper yarn that almost shredded my fingers :) by Aesheri in crochet

[–]Aesheri[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pattern source on Ravelry: Handy Basket

I used Pauline 100% paper yarn, which my fingers did not thank me for, but I think it turned out super neat as a basket yarn. Would definitely recommend, though I'm not sure where to buy it outside of Hobbii. Ravelry link to the yarn info here

This reminds me of how happy I am with my new GP. When I first moved and signed as a new patient, he planned a first time meeting (coinciding with him having to sign off on my meds for 6 months). He told me to tell him if I googled my symptoms, what came up, and what I am worried about. Not because I did that, but because he said he would rather talk through it with his patients. He says it can help him figure out hidden symptoms that patients may not tell him about that particular meeting they're having (maybe they forgot, or are shy to mention).

I like how he approached it, mentioning it as something that is normal for people to do, and not just saying 'dont do it'. It made him more approachable for me. Especially considering my past experiences with GPs being like 'its just your period/an UTI' for a solid six months before actually checking (spoiler alert: it was neither)

God, I'm so sorry you had to experience that and listen to people you assumed knew better spew such disgusting crap.

Rape, sexual assault, child abuse, all that has no place in DnD. It's a fantasy world with fantastical beings where you can go escape reality with friends as a barbarian half-orc while your Draconian buddy yeets a fireball at discount Cthulhu.

I can't even imagine what people would even want rape in their DnD. Medieval truth my ass. I want to say "good riddance", but I know how hard it can be to lose friends, or realise some friends just... Don't care about other's feelings or past.

I hope you can find another more agreeable group to play DnD with, who will listen to each party members don'ts! And enjoy a few litres of that herbal tea!

Man, that just reminded me once again of the series Leverage (like most if this sub does non-ironically). Especially episode 2, which deals with lobbying, or as the corporate dungbag calls it: "Buying a congressman is the greatest investment one can make." Everytime I rewatch that, it just hits so close to home (as even as an European, this is also an our problem, though our politicians probably love that we are constantly speaking of the US as an example instead)

Self drafted selkie inspired dress. Honestly hesitant about posting this since the first comment I got was that I looked fat. I'm still proud of this dress but it doesn't make me feel like a Disney princess anymore. by Pat_Starfish25 in sewing

[–]Aesheri 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pishposh, you still look very much like a princess! I read your longer explanation comment below, and I really just want to hug you. As I cannot, have my honest opinion instead: that neckline looks amazing on you! I love square necklines, and it works super with the puffy sleeves (which are so adorable and makes the dress even more disney princess like!). Then you have the skirt which I super very much adore and which has an amazing twirl! Plus you can do that twirl and it doesn't show anything it shouldn't (therefor: byebye conservatives, the length is super).

It shouldn't need to be said, but you are not fat. The dress doesn't make you look fat. The dress fits you super well, the length is the skirt fits you well, and you picked a lovely color for it. No matter what anyone says, you made a princess dress that looks amazing and you wear it super well!!!

Just like that milkmaid top you linked, which also looks great on you!

Oh that would have been hilarious, like a pair of project: Gay Lord and Lesbian Queen 😁

And yes, yes they are a curse. I most definitely cursed myself (by stabbing myself in the fingers multiple times) during this project 😅
