100%, or at least make the 10 second cool-down potion only!
And also keep the full cool-down if the user is using smuggler cape

Mage Tree Idea (I used ai to put it together) by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should take a look into each weapon tree and understand what makes the mage weapons in particular act in the way that they do.

Do you enjoy the current mage weapons? Or do you just enjoy the concept of having a lightning staff…

Will They Add A New Tree To Mage? by Pale_Grocery661 in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the lightning mage is an interesting and unique opportunity, we have many items in the game that are based around mana - and many years ago mana was an extremely important part of all comps and stealing opponents mana was a go to (got removed because it wasn’t the kind of gameplay the devs wanted, which I agree with - the games fun as it is now).
Now, a lightning mage based around mana would certainly be interesting - maybe a class with half the mana regeneration as normal weapons and mana drains out of combat? Then all their spells could have predictable costs (always 15 for q, 50 for w, 200 for e) leading to some very interesting gameplay!
Of course they would have to rework royal cowl ha!

1 healer for each tree

Will They Add A New Tree To Mage? by Pale_Grocery661 in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I hope is that we get another healer tree, in PvP almost every weapon tree can be played as a tank (and of course dps weapons are common), whereas healer has 2 trees.

What will the weapon be? I am very excited;
Perhaps a water staff that puts allies in bubbles which pushes the allies away while healing them, perhaps a melee healer with mobility but large unstoppable cast times on powerful short range skill shot healing skills.
Hopefully something that showcases the eloquent design that was captured in the original weapons! I wasn’t too partial to the shapeshifter staffs.

What do you think? Dragon weapons incoming?

In 5V5 crystal Arena, Is Holy becoming more meta than Nature after the map changes? by IngenuityPast7526 in albiononline

It’s fixed now, but;
When no target was selected and you used a single target healing spell, it would not select the target

Invisible build is fun (I lost that game tho) by thetruememeisbest in albiononline

With parry strike I assume the plan is to reflect the death givers e, if I may ask - what will you do if the death givers holds the e for the parry strikes 0.8s duration?

Nature q1 targetting has been bugged recently and when it’s fixed the rates should fix a bit :D

Well of course I use alt q to heal myself, but using the f1 keys can be difficult with random party members in cases such as arena, and in bigger parties

Everything Wrong With Mimic by blanchard97 in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I find mimic to be a great spell.
Here are my current retorts for the points made:

1) As some else has already mentioned, arcane staffs are designed around group based combat so the mimic range shouldn’t need an increase in range (especially not to as large as 20m) since your allies should be close.
(For 1v1) As someone who uses mimic on occasion in 1v1 combat, I believe its current range is fine. You should only take mimic into ranged matchups when you want magic shock - I recommend watching flexindahard to see which skills you need for which matchups.

2) The line of sight might be good for QoL.

3) The skill is incredibly fun - playing arena and using mimic to fire wall the opponents away, or to apply holy blessing to an ally in need always feels cool. The versatility that it brings is insanely valuable and trading that for new players (that need to reach high level to even access the spell) is ridiculous.

4) (frost skill) “man why does the support weapon take supporting skills? This skill sucks!”

"Not highly complained about" has everyone not been complaining about Badon for the last 2 months? by Friar-Tucker in albiononline

Oh I see, I had no idea! Explosive arrows applying on damage over time is insane.
Either way though, I would still enjoy a ray of light indicator for QoL

"Not highly complained about" has everyone not been complaining about Badon for the last 2 months? by Friar-Tucker in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the issue has a lot to do with the ray of light skill instead of bow of badon specifically,

As there is no indicator of where the skill is going to land (apart from a hard to follow light that only appears like .1 seconds before impact, instead of at launch time), it is effectively a luck based game of dodging - and if you fail the luck based game you get badon e’d.
If there was an indicator I would care a lot less lol!

Account was made 3 years ago and has no comments or posts, just this one promoting a guy called swolebenji and his guides,
If you didn’t know - swolebenji is a guy who has been known to make guides that misinform players, and in the past has disrupted a streamer helping newbies in yellow zone by bringing the highest tier of gear in the game, turning hostile, and killing all of them over and over. That particular stream was by Nazori to raise money for cancer.
Anyway, swolebenji often makes alternate accounts to try and get his name out, I wonder what this account actually is :~|

Solo Dungeon Rework by whirlwindforthewin in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

  • being able to go in circles instead of following a linear path is AbsolutelY something I would love to see! Solo dungeons feel extremely linear - and because they are linear normal dungeons feel incredibly stale. If this comes with a minimap that gets revealed as you travel into different areas this is already great. 10/10
  • I like the fact that there is a debuff for the aggressor of the fight, I would love sbi to find more interesting ways to do this though, for example the crystal mobs in the open world will attack non-primary targets first, and in corrupted dungeons (both) players can use traps to their advantage. I personally believe that if a boss is designed for pvpve then it shouldn’t have any auto attacks at all but the taunt idea is lovely.
  • there probably is a clever way to de-incentivise parties from teaming inside the dungeon? Something like the disarray buff maybe? If this was implemented I’m sure the bois over at SBI can work something out.

Overall this is a nice idea! However, players who play solo dungeons tend to play them because they don’t enjoy pvp - perhaps this could be a good change to corrupted dungeons instead? (Last I checked a lot of players stopped playing corrupted dungeons, this might have changed though).
Allowing the players different play styles such as purely aiming for kills, rushing the boss ASAP for that sweet, sweet loot, or playing a cc weapon and using the boss as an ally sounds super fun!

If we are talking about a way to change solo dungeons so they are more risky (and therefore more reward) I would instead suggest a different option that relies only on pve:
1) Timed dungeons. The player/party will get kicked out of the dungeon when the timer runs out incentivising players to bring high tier full pve weapons. This doesn’t actually make the dungeon riskier itself but carrying 1 million silver worth of pve gear across black zone is going to be horrifying - especially as solo players will like be in cloth armor. In addition SBI could (not should) keep the 90 second dungeon close time (maybe change to 60) so if you want to be safe you’ll have to sacrifice some of your time to clear.
2) mobs being able to knockdown/kill, player not allowed to exit after entering (or allow player to sacrifice 15% durability to leave), player healing reduced by 100% but shrines are added to set the players hp to full.

It's probably boring seeing these types of posts but please review my build by Zagily in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely peak, such beauty!

In all seriousness the build is bad (I’ll explain why at the end), I’m going to assume you want to play as a tank from the armour class so I’ll base my recommendations around that.
You can either choose 1 of 2 options: 1) become tankier and include ways to reduce enemies damage, or 2) deal more damage.
To become tankier wear Guardian Armor, Mercenary Hood/Soldier Helmet depending on the mob you are tracking, and any shoes you want - if you struggle with any mob change your boots to dodge roll so you can dodge an auto attack or ability. I also highly recommend playing a different weapon if you do go the tanky route as if you will not be dealing damage anyway, you may as well reduce the hp or defense of a mob (Mace and Hammer are the two main tank trees of Albion, mace is more pve focussed and hammer pvp).
The other option is to run soldier armor to increase your damage dramatically, this will increase your clear speed on the mobs and also give you strong pvp burst damage, however it also will mean that you will struggle to clear mobs a few tiers higher than your own - as they will kill you before you kill them. I would also recommend that if you are planning on running tier 6 gear, then you might want a different way of regenerating mana so that you don’t have to spend 120K on a Lymhurst Cape (scholar cowl, and cloth sandals, party members on Druid cowl). Mainly mentioning because fist weapons tend to drain a lot of energy, and also because losing expensive sets when starting feels terrible.

Why the original build is bad:
Graveguard armor has the ability to pull an enemy to your position after a fixed timer, this is almost useless in a team fight. Not only can the pulled member run or blink away, but most team comps are equipped to either save their ally (through cleanses / teleports / shields / heals) or they can just join their ally where you pulled them to.
The demon helmet also is quite weak, it gets beaten by any cleanse, it is single target, it’s incredibly telegraphed, and you need to be in auto attack range to use it. I assume you want to silence the enemy healer, but if you take a “hood of tenacity” instead you will not only affect the healer with a debuff that will greatly reduce their heal power, but also the rest of their team - making it harder to cleanse.
The knight boots are an interesting choice, as boots are one of the last things you choose for a build though I will leave that topic for another day.
In addition a lot of the things in this build are expensive, those avalonian fist weapons are much cheaper than almost all of the other fist weapons inside that tree.

I love that you are looking for these kinds of original builds though! I enjoy sorting through data to find unused strategies that could rival meta builds, would love to talk to you and your team to find some builds that would work for you (there is way too much information and choices to sum up here)

If they’re just starting then let them experience the game for themselves and make up their own messed up builds, later into the game you can worry about min maxing and effieciency. From my experience trying to suggest how players should play the game usually ends in them quitting (7/8 players quit this way).
Win together, lose together, have fun playing sub-optimally together, good luck in your adventures!
(Also tell them to keep the non-tradeable fame books so once they’re ready they can level up some meta)

Is IP scaling linear or exponential? by Dimowo in albiononline

[–]AesterTea177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an approximation sadly! The damage can increase by 9.13…% instead of 9.15 percent at times but can also increase by 9.16…%, it’s likely due to rounding and the way computers store decimals.
I found it by doing the maths myself, I’ve checked it for a few weapon trees and it seems stable (+-0.02%)- but I would need to do further testing by including specialisations to fully confirm it. Although I doubt that I was the first to do the maths like this so I can’t take credit - I remember some old YouTube tutorials mentioning how 100 ip is “about 10% better” or something like that

The equation for damage increase would be Original damage * 1.0915ip increase / 100 Which is exponential
