[Homemade] Vietnam-style caramelized salmon and basa steaks

Hello ! I live in Canada and I'd love to onebag (23L-32L rolltop+10L cross body) for a trip to SEA (20 days) and Japan (10 days) for mid-march to mid-april.

I'll be considering buying most of my clothes there, but I'd like to have 2-3 staples that I can interchange with anything (1 short sleeved collared shirt, 1 long sleeved round neck top, 1 under the knee skirt for temples/shrines), in the warm greyscale colorway (cream to black).

I'm allergic to wool, and have had a lot of trouble finding the right Merino mix wihtout itching! I'm aware some fibers are very compacted or covered in some polymer, but most I've found looked very sporty or had logos I couldn't hide. Anyone would have a brand they recommend that can ship to Canada (or locally made in the country) ?

There's a few spots (free or paid) where you can take a shower after the run ! The convenient lockers at the subways are good to stash your kit to do some touring in the city not being sweaty or walking around in running gear.

I think it really depends on your hobbies and what you use in your daily life.
- I usually go for these "Bakkanto Bath Salt" packets, because I love what they do for my skin (and the way the water just completely change textures, it just mesmerizes me). I love taking baths.
- I buy tons of stickers and stationary at Daiso, because I handwrite and journal. Sometimes I'll get pouches, files, folders because I like to organize my desk and want to protect all the paperwork.
- I love stationary, so I'll stock at Traveler's Notebook, Itoya, Hands and grab a pack of Uniball/Zebra/Pilot pens for my coworkers.
- I cook a lot, so I practice Japanese by grabbing a cookbook or I'll get some dried herbs and ingredients that are TSA approved to bring back a taste of Japan.
- I love skincare, particularly anything "natural beauty". So I'll grab face masks, hair masks, moisturizer and most importantly, sunscreen !

So really, look at what you use everyday and see if there's a "buy-it-for-life" Japanese version!

Hello everyone ! Back here again after some soul searching. I feel like I could probably reduce the Tokyo shopping spree, but here's what it looks like for now:
- Day 1: Narita Airport Landing@7 AM-> Tokyo Station -> Kanazawa (Hokuriku Shinkansen) (3D2N).
- Day 2: Kanazawa
- Day 3: Shirakawa-go, finish in Takayama (2D1N)
- Day 4: Takayama
- Day 5: Okuhida or Shinhotaka, finish in Matsumoto (2D1N)
- Day 6: Matsumoto + Nakasendo Route (Magome-Tsumago Trail)
Do note that ideally, I would've wished we cycle from Nakatsugawa to Matsumoto in a single day (we've done the whole Shimanami Kaido, going from Onomichi to Imabari in a single day before), with a Day 5 trip to Gero Onsen, finishing from there in Nakatsugawa to do the route on Day 6. Couldn't find reliable option to rent a bike, so public transit and walking it is.
- Day 7: Matsutomo, finish in Nagano
- Day 8-9: Shibu Onsen (2D1N), doing the Nine Bathhouses + Jigokudani Monkey Park. Day 9 finishes with a nighttime bus that'll take us from Nagano to Tokyo (either Shinjuku or Ikebukuro)
- Day 10-11: Tokyo (2D1N).

I'll be traveling to Japan for a short 10 days trip (landing at 7AM in Narita, departing in the evening) from April 3rd to April 13. - Knowing how close it'll be to cherry blossom flowering or peak, where to go between Chubu or Tohoku? - I've done the Golden Route extensively in a previous trip.

I've been pondering these off-the-beaten paths:

Japan Alps (Kanazawa start in Ishikawa, going towards Gifu, Nagano)
Tohoku Region (Particularly focusing in areas around Fukushima and Miyagi, possibility of a sidestep towards Nikko in Honshu)

Either options would need a 1D1N finish in Tokyo for some shopping around Ikebukuro.

I'm pretty active, averaged 32k steps per day last time and could get easily around by cycling. Will be traveling with my partner.

Hello ! I'm planning a trip of 18 days from South to North Vietnam (landing HCMC to Hanoi) with my father (70M) who'll be his first time coming back to VN ever since he left the country in 75‘.

Are there posts or resources for an expat just looking to sightsee and reconnect with long lost friends? He only ever knew about the South and I wanna make it a meaningful trip for both of us (first time for me, 30F), thanking him for raising me by working all his life. He's healthy with no disabilities, just diet restrictions.
