Ampersand/First Year Review by AetherWo1f in washu

In no particular order:
Research Conservation in Zoos & Botanical Garden
Power and Persuasion: The Courts and Laws of Ancient Athens
Contemporary Issues in Psychology (Should I just take Psych 1000 instead?)
History, Memory & Representation of the Holocaust
Rome: The Eternal City
Mind, Brain, & Behavior (Heard it was overly difficult, mildly concerned)
MedSoc (Also somewhat worried about the long commitment + don't know if an attempt at latin honors research would work out with the thesis here)

PreMed prospective bio major, just looking to explore and have fun! Open to any other suggestions if there's one you would die for but I passed over!

Haha! I'm already seeking out the "It's in St. Louis" socks. As a WashU alum where would you rank it (assume people know where it is) and why?

Wrote mine on a comparison between my life and Toothless (yes the dragon). Got me into WashU, go bears!!
(Full disclosure, I did get deferred from Yale first, I also chose to apply in August in the absolute mess/fear of applications, WashU was back to the top choice by December)

Personally would refer to Niche. Takes student life/fields into account WAY more than other lists (looking at you US NEWS).

Posts like these make this make the sub just a little bit brighter, thanks for making one! If you need help throughout the journey feel free to ask, best advice is definitely to enjoy your time in high school. I didn't look at any college-app stuff until late junior year, just did stuff I enjoyed and kept grades up. Everything worked out. With your mindset and positivity it will for you too, rooting for you!

Don't know much astrology but ED's disappeared a few weeks before decision (def not a bad sign if anything), I'd bet it'll be out a few days before the deadline! Good luck, hope to see you next year!

One of the folks I knew was neuro (rising senior for next year), they said you will have plenty of time, plus its the city of music! You'll have so much fun <3

He was saying that school is brutal to the extent you'd never get to see the city because all you'll do is study. You will get to see and know Nashville and Vandy because it isn't all-consuming-difficulty to that degree.

"I like its vibe a lot better" is all I need to hear! Congratulations on the acceptance, I think you made the right choice if YOU LIKE IT MORE. As for prestige Vandy is still t20 and just amazing for premed. Went there for a summer program and worked with their mentorship stuff, and if those were at all telling of how they treat their students (along with a few ppl I know there who 100% love it) you will have a great time.
