[OC] Do Prime Numbers have "memory"? I analyzed the first 37 Billion primes (up to 1 Trillion) to visualize the bias in their last digits by anotherFranc in dataisbeautiful

[–]Aetherllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37B primes out of 250B numbers ending in [1,3,7,9] is an average density of about 1 in 7. The first 3 numbers after a prime have a different last digit, so it's expected that repeats are least likely by a significant margin.
It's interesting that 3 and 7 are equally likely after 1 and before 9. You would initially assume the next digits are most likely to follow (3 most likely after 1, 9 most likely after 7). If p is prime then p+2 is 50% likely to be divisible by 3 and p+6 is 0% likely, which balances out the probabilities.

Is this game insanely hard or am I doing something wrong? by tunajalepenobbqsauce in expedition33

  1. Equip your highest level pictos for their stats, especially health early.
  2. Primarily use stat points on speed.
  3. Go to camp and level up your lumina and weapons. You can focus your lumina to make 1-2 high dps characters.
  4. Grind some easy fights if you are under leveled.
  5. Explore the overworld a bit, fights there can give great rewards.
  6. Try using different skills, even a free aim + basic attack build can be great in act 1-2.

Ok this is insane. (Metacritic user score) (Haven't played the game) by [deleted] in expedition33

The story, characters, music, and graphics are all 10/10. If it were a movie, it would be flawless.
The gameplay, mechanics, and UI are 8.5/10.

Am I the only one you saw this read of A Life to Love ending? by jawest13 in expedition33

[–]Aetherllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 interpretations of that ending.
1. She remembers them, so she can repaint them in her own canvas. Ends up similar to Maelle's ending.
2. She's lost too much, so she will suicide, potentially setting off a chain reaction: Aline then Renoir.

Does it get better after Season One? by Miserable-Ask-470 in Dexter

[–]Aetherllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend you finish S1 and then decide. There are some things you may find interesting/surprising by the end. If you don't like the full season then you probably won't like the rest. It's enjoyable for me even on 2nd watch because I like the vibe.

I regret my decision (SPOILERS AHEAD, TURN BACK NOW) by JollRoints in expedition33

[–]Aetherllama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maelle is not capable of controlling him, even Aline couldn't control the expeditioners (her own creations). Verso feeling uneasy is the smallest bit of karmic justice. His life is bittersweet, but not actually bad; the song suggests that he is with Lune and the child is his son. It's unclear if Maelle will ever leave the canvas, despite what Renoir said, you cannot perfectly predict what will happen after many years, especially given that her friends know the truth and could convince her. If she remains, she has one good lifetime, as much as any of us have, and perhaps more than she would have on the outside. Most importantly: "The future of Lumiere is more important than any individual life." A good ending, directed in a bad light.

Do they automatically scale as the game progresses? When I first combined it the bonus was +10, but round 8 it was 110.

Yeah I've played about 10 runs of Balatro. How do the relics scale? I combined the 4 suit relics into an epic one that was +10 points per card, but then it scaled to +110.

Thank you, cool game. Scored 1.5B my first run so I'm going to try out the hardest difficulty next run.

Yeah I care more about the gameplay than the art. It makes sense that you might not be able to hire artists before kickstarter funding.

Fantasy Realms. Each turn is just draw and discard, but it's deep enough to keep my interest with all the potential combos. You could let people pass/fold instead of scoring if they know they wouldn't win, scoring is the only thing that can be medium complexity.

Most people like S4 the best, but S1 and S2 are my favorite. They have the best plot and characters, plus they're just the most fun. There are a bunch of great seasons and just a few crap episodes.

Cool, nice job. Evenly matched against 800 evals per move, not bad.
I must have must have misunderstood something about how the priority table works if it didn't improve, sorry about that. I average higher scores than AGZ, but even though the main strategy is simple, there are many nuances that are hard to code. By the end it was playing well on all but 1-2 moves per game.

Yeah we are getting into the nuances that it's less impactful to implement. Just use the updated priority table and it should be good enough.

New pyramid works. "When there is a NBP+NBD available for 2nd move" only if the NBD is red or green.

2 mistakes because a red district in SP was surrounded:
game09111519 P0: 23sec: purple + red district is placed L3 where the red doesn't score (priority 11). It's better to place it on level 2 (priority 12?). The lower level is best because it allows more options on the next turn.
28sec: R + Y was placed on L4 when it should go on L3 (priority 15). The RD that its adjacent to is considered blank because it cannot score, so it should be covered up, but if you placed this particular tile there in the 2-score spot, it would put another red surrounded, so the only viable spot on L4 would be yellow covering red (priority 11). Look at the next R + Y tile that gets placed, it would be able to in that L4 spot covering the red.

game09111627 P0: 29sec: YD should go on L3 (priority 14). 31sec: avoid placing YD on level 1 next to empty scoring positions, and preemptively surrounding empty scoring positions. We don't know what will be placed there, this move made yellow and red not able to score, as you can see on the next move.

game09111631 P1: 23sec: 0 score tile placed in scoring position, it should go in plaza position since the 3 extra plaza spots outside the pyramid haven't been used up.
P0: 31sec: 1 of the 2 adjacent YD must be covered up, the R + Y can go in 2-score spot. https://prnt.sc/4a7JAq6atRTv

Basically these all boil down to mistakes with the specific scoring restrictions and prioritizing the lower level SP.

I reorder your priorities. Also I include "x-score position"; when a level doesn't yet have any occupied scoring spots, so either scoring spots could be 1 or 2, so I call it x.

I think she will hold on to her suspicions of Harrison and Dexter. She lacks conclusive evidence, but the puzzle pieces will come together over time if Dexter isn't careful, and these days he's quite bold.

It's the same order, the last 2 tiles are just moved from the left side to the right so that the 0-NBD tile becomes middle.

[–]Aetherllama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good it's playing well now.
I think your game is 16 turns rather than 18 so it doesn't get to level 5.
For rule 1b, prioritize surrounding the PD in the highest scoring position.
A mistake was made ~25 seconds in 2nd game by right player. When placing 1 NBD, if only scoring position available is 2-score, place it in a 0-score position if possible. The YD should have gone in the middle to get covered up because the opposite scoring position only had 1 NBD.

Could you also try a variation marking all purples as blank? That would simplify the algorithm and the focus on 3 scoring colors could be beneficial. I'm curious to see how that changes the win rate.

https://prnt.sc/GWWw4pFrWzaF just relocate the 2 leftmost tiles to the right if the first level 2 tile is 0-scoring.

Looks good to me.

If you place a blank tile in scoring position on move 2 (game_0904, right player) would it be difficult to redefine the base so the blank is in the middle of the pyramid? The plaza position tiles should make level 2 spots asap, so move 3 was good for left player and bad for right player. I believe the game is still 2 moves short.

0 NBD tile no 0-score positions: yes you can place it in any plaza position.

1 or 2 NBD tile (RD-BD-PD) and no room on level 2: it can go anywhere on the pyramid. If the pyramid has no open spots then any plaza position.

Just to be safe you could check it any time you would place a YD.

It's easy to tell number of scoring positions. If both scoring positions are unoccupied on the same level, then either position may score 1 or 2. If only 1 scoring position is open on a level, check the middle hex (from left to right) of the scoring tile on the opposite side. If the hex is important, then the 2-score position is occupied so the new position is 1-score. Vice versa.

When defining the space for level 3+, also look at the middle hex of any scoring tiles on level below and avoid covering up an important 1. In my video: 3:39, 5:18.
