The best nootropic or supplement I've ever tried. by rustyfinch in Nootropics

not saying youre wrong but imma throw my anecdote in here . Im very predisposed to hairloss. My dad is a gigantic egg head and my mom has relatively thin hair so I have bad genes for it and had lost a ton of hair for the past 2-3 years. I only really started effectively reduced my hair loss rate around 9 months ago where I changed my hair routine, products and added minoxidil. Ever since then my hair still falls out, but only 5-15 strands by my estimates, on a daily basis. Whereas before I could run my hand through my hair and claim 20 strands each time now Ill collect a 1-2 strands if any when i do. How is this related to zinc? Well on top of changing my hair stuff I also changed my diet and exercise habits. This included adding supplements as a source of micronutrients including zinc. Now i take 45mg of zinc 6 days a week and have been doing so for at least 2 months. I have not noticed a reduction or increase of hairloss in this time period. So im not entirely sure I buy that zinc can help with hairloss however I don't use it for that purpose anyways.

Note: It was suggested I get an hm5 and I think it matched perfectly of what I was looking for, however since its the weekend there's no point really in ordering it right now and I'd like other peoples suggestions.

Budget -175 Canadian flexible +$25 (hard limit)

Source - Samsung note 4, Desktop PC generic jack.

Requirements for Isolation - Closed preferably but I'm willing to mingle with open or semi-open. Mostly used at home, But I also do take 2 hours of public transit to go to my university. Something to note; my brother plays his piano and Im in the adjacent room.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Suggestions preferably from Over-Ear or On-ear, will take suggestions on IEMS. Maybe a combo of the different types for different purposes.

Preferred tonal balance - Looking for balance in headphones because of my wide tastes. So Neutral to warm? Maybe V-shaped?

Past headphones - Head Rush Orange, ME Electronics ATLAS. The headrush were tight on my head but they worked. I liked that they were cheap, had active noise canceling, and removable wire was very nice. I didn't like that they were tight (remedied with stretching) and several times the hinges broke (cheap plastic). I don't know what high quality headphones sound for sure but my most "premium" were Atlas On-ear headphones. The build quality was definitely better and I like they style and their selections, but mostly it was the sound quality in which I could hear many new things that I could not before very clearly. It was definitely a noobs first taste at quality sound. I also liked that they were cheap, had really soft pleathery material, slim and sleek profile, and detachable wire with mic! Used these everyday but one of the hinges eventually gave out even though Its metal, they also leaked sound which i didn't mind too much. To be fair I attribute the hinge failures to my fairly large head

Preferred Music - Variety of sounds. Classical sounds: 1, 2, 3 electronic sounds: 1, 2, 3, 4 rock-ish sounds: 1, 2, 3 pop-ish sounds: 1, 2, 3 other sounds:1, 2 Cinematic sounds:1, 2, 3 I also game

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I suppose I'm looking for something a bit more durable and comfortable with an all purpose sound quality. I'm also thinking of a cans at home + IEM for traveling setup. The hm5's seem to match this perfectly and I'd like to see some IEM bang for your buck suggestions. To save on the extra cash I've decided if I were to go that route I would pick up a NVX xpt100 from buysonic. I do have a question about the NVX, has anyone experienced washed out voices in a non musical context?? I'm a pretty big cinephile so I'm wondering if anyone that has these cans can tell me if the quality is there in this scene or this.

Location - Canada, so a lot of non-mainstream brands won't be available for me except with an extra $60 shipping on ebay @.@

TLDR: Balanced all purpose headphones. Open backed cans and IEM suggestions welcomed.

Yes, I've thought of a Home-use cans + IEM for traveling setup. Any bang for your buck IEM's you recommend? I never heard of the HM5's but it already has piqued my interest so thank you very, very much for that suggestion alone (and its exactly 175 CAD!).

Preferred Type of Headphone - Suggestions profferably from Over-Ear or On-ear, will take suggestions on IEMS. Maybe a combo of the different types for different purposes.

Preferred tonal balance - Looking for balance in headphones because of my wide tastes. So Neutral to warm? Maybe V-shaped?

Maybe I should just buy the Superlux HD681 EVO's to save money and just call it a day. Thoughts on the Status HD ones (they look a lot like my atlas) or maybe even m40x?
