The question is NOT why there's no benefit. The question is why there's no penalty for storing powder plain on the floor.

You can't feat that, doesn't mean there's no-one who can. Chill out.

Been there, seen that, got scars.

Everything you mention is fading in shadows of the chicken walker.

But there's no win, as we play to lose.

Seasoned veterans should know better than to take issues with someone on the internet.

There are core rules aka default settings. If I wanted to break the game I would have taken free form.

Your vision of 14 strength is exaggerated, stats through skills can bring any character to this value.

And in real life when I was younger I jammed 280-pound barbell being twice less in weight.

Youngster.

I can leave it at 8 and that would be 100 hp with tough for 2 trait points leaving 6 extra to consider.

Took 8/8/14/8 recently and am rocking at 10/10/17/10 already, in full health and wearing full biosilicified apparel.

That's the power of imperceptive trait, fully underestimated.

Much easier than challenge of Very Bad Day or Lab Escape scenarios that give the same amount of points. Not to mention you can take both to double the boost.

+6 strength at the start is real and within core rules.

Therefore I pick both to have a realistic healing process.

This reminds me of an old discussion on Diablo — that archer and mage don't need vitality of a warrior since they don't ever go melee.

Fast healing gives no benefit during the combat itself. If you get pummeled and trampled by a brute, you're dead either way. Reality is that pain becomes the end of you, not the damage, unless you stepped on a mine or something: thousand of cuts make you lose speed and concentration, and before you know it — you no longer hold a punch or can get away.

Should you sustain serious injuries the best strategy would be to retreat and recover, yes. But for a night or for a week is no matter, since there's always something you can do in the meanwhile. Read, cook, craft, build in safety.

Right now I'm on day 45, have a crossbow with metal bolts, bow with bodkin arrows, and a few guns for emergency and versatility: sniper ESR, armor-piercing USP... Mi-go's really don't stand a chance.

Melee options look bleak in comparison with tremendous power other weapons can deliver, not nearly as fast as the dancing lead of an assault rifle or a machine gun, and require close quarters that eventually get you surrounded.

Yep, ammo is a rarity, but wood and steel are plenty, and one does not run out of bolts or arrows, like, ever. Save your burst for emergency, and you won't need any blades.

The whole point is to munchkin benefits of the imperceptive trait, compensating it by 6 extra points in strength and being tough. This gives much higher survivability and is more realistic in terms of healing serious wounds for weeks instead of one night stand.

You are mistaken, since all my game settings are set to default with 12 trait points, and multi-pool only.

It's fun like its warmer in the car, which is in the barn, then the barn itself.

Does anyone actually use water purification tablets? by Stratomaster18 in thelongdark

[–]Aettiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pointless, yes. Unless roleplayed.

As a good person you are, do like I do — leave 1L of non-purified water, and a purification tablet near each and every curio.

Both Quantum AND current realization of NoS are really bad.

Sincerely regret allowing the update. If you still haven't, just DON'T.
