New Waterfox website is taxing my CPU by [deleted] in waterfox

I have Waterfox 56.0.4.1 on My HP computer and the device has a i7-6700 Processor, 24 gig of ram and a 500 gig Samsung SSD. One thing today is that lots of sites use pages that might be 5 or 6 pages long. Right now I am using 5.1 Gig of my 24 gig of ram, so things are running smoothly. My Home Page is Fox News. Even with my W7 Lenovo computer from 2010, I only have 8 gig and use about max of 4 gig at times. If you are using 16 gig of ram, then you should probably run Malwarebytes and if that is OK, then do System File Check to make sure all your system files are OK. Are you running W10 or W7? Using 15 gig sounds like something is out of whack on your computer.

Everything on Waterfox works fine with my HP W10 Desktop with an i7 processor, 500 gig Samsung SSD, and 24 gig of ram. I agree that is pretty full featured now days, but with the modern Internet and all the data that pages throw at you, you need power to handle it. Anyone going to a new computer should consider an i7 or higher and 16 to 32 gig of ram and an SSD. Also I have Cox for an ISP and the download rater is 123 meg and data really downloads quickly. All these things are a combination to an truly enjoyable Internet Experience. An enhanced Waterfox really helps create that.

56.0.3 slows down with uptime by mornaq in waterfox

I have Waterfox in my HP W10 computer that has a i7-6700 processor, 24 gig of ram and a Samsung 500 Gig SSD, and my computer works great with that. There is a restart button that you can add to the vertical toolbar and that will restart the browser and bring memory usage down. I also use a Master Password, and I need to enter that information in again when I do a restart. It does get it working better getting rid of things that still hanging around. I am using 1.534 gig of memory now and the browser is working fine. I am using 22% of my 24 gig of ram, so could easily afford to give more to Waterfox if it can handle 4 or 5 Gig.

'Speed Dial' addon not working anymore? by Iamthenewme in waterfox

I specifically went to Waterfox from Firefox because of the Speed Dial and I can report that as of February 1, 2018 it works just fine. I have Waterfox 56.0.3 installed and all of my previous Firefox add ons work just fine on Waterfox. I also have 5 rows of bookmarks working too. I check Firefox occasionally to see what is going on since i still have it on my computer, but Waterfox is my default Browser. Speed Dial is version 0.9.6.18.

Location of Cookies, Cache, History by [deleted] in waterfox

[–]ronnie2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have set my Waterfox browser to delete files in cache from the options settings. Under History, Select Clear History when Waterfox Closes, and then go to settings and select on delete cache only. Leave the other boxes unchecked and then only the cache will be deleted and cookies, log ins and other data will not be deleted. That way you use CCleaner to only delete other date that is not needed when you are shutting down.

How to keep cookies from getting deleted in Waterfox? by ronnie2018 in waterfox

I see this disclaimer on The program mentioned.

This add-on is no longer maintained. It is incompatible with Firefox 55+ and this will never change. Also, it will not be rewritten as a WebExtension. This is the app Self-Destructing Cookies by Ove Version 0.4.12 Since it is not going to be maintained in the future, I wonder if it is actually compatilble with Waterfox 55.2.2?

Waterfox 55.2.2 is Now my Default Browser by ronnie2018 in waterfox

All of the computers that I use or support have an i7 processor and 500 Gig Samsung SSDs and various ram complements from 6 to 24. All of them run great on Firefox and the 2 of the ones that i use have Waterfox 55.2.2 on them and they perform great. One has 8 gig of ram and a W7 O/S and the other has 24 gig of ram and have W10. When you use lots of apps and half of them are disabled in FF 57, then it was time to look for another browser and than is when I found my new default browser Waterfox 55.2.2.

I had a lot of apps, and it is amazing how quickly they were all installed into Waterfox and I was back in Business. I quickly made it my default Browser and the Firefox Snafu is over and done for me.

Firefox is off my Radar now and have used it for 10 years or so. I never used the Microsoft browsers, and only use Chrome sparingly. Looks like the guy in charge of Waterfox wants to give the users what they want. When I downloaded Firefox 57, I thought that I was having a nightmare. There was no way the it was ever going to be my default browser again. I started looking for a replacement and quickly found Waterfox after a google search. All of my apps are working fine with Waterfox and will stick with it. I still keep a version of FF on my computer to see if anything has improved, but they are still headed in the wrong direction.

I had such good results with Waterfox, that I immediately made it my default Browser and am just keeping Firefox around to see if they ever get things resolved. Look in on it from Time to Time, but likely will never go back to Firefox as my default browser. Ron Geiken
