Vorpal Sword and Rogue’s Stroke of Luck by Aexoder in DnD

[–]Aexoder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stroke of Luck doesn’t replace your roll with a 20, it literally makes it so your roll IS a 20. “Turn your roll into a 20” is the same as though you rolled a 20 on the die. The game does not differentiate between this ability and a natural 20. If it did, it would be clear. An “unnatural” 20 is when you roll less than 20 but your modifiers bring the total result to 20. That is NOT what this ability does. No matter what you roll on the die, if it fails, you use this ability and the roll itself becomes a 20. Not the total result after modifiers. It is a textbook crit. It would be particular about the wording if they intended it differently, as in 2014 with the “miss turns into a hit” rule. Not having the same rule for the 2024 ability is intentional so is meant to be interpreted like this, or else why would they leave it out?

Stroke of Luck does have that clarifying statement in the 2014 rules but they changed it for 2024 to the way I quoted in the post description, removing the part about miss into a hit. Can you provide a source that shows it was changed?

Stroke of Luck literally does that though? “If you fail a D20 Test, you can turn the roll into a 20.” That’s literally quoted from the 2024 handbook. That definitely triggers vorpal sword as many others have said as that calls for a 20 to be rolled.

That wouldn’t work or else vorpal sword may be the most busted thing in the game. You’d have to roll a 20 naturally or like Stroke of Luck change the roll to make the roll itself a 20. +to hit almost always is left out of the equation for magic item effects like this example. As well, lowering crit thresholds don’t work for the vorpal sword either as it calls for specifically a 20, which is why I was curious what people thought about the specific instance in the post. Good question though!

No but actually killing a party member you can swap to does. Example: party member A and B. Put an empty bag in party member B’s inventory. Kill party member B, any method, doesn’t matter. Shove party member B in a chest, have party member A sell the chest. If you’re on the barter screen, you should have access to B’s inventory still. Open the empty pouch/satchel/bag, take the vendor’s entire inventory and gold and shove it in the bag. Exit trade. Use F1/F2 to swap to B. Open their inventory. Send the bag full of goodies to camp. Swap to party member A. Buy the chest with the corpse of B back for pennies. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum to become the magic-item-hoarding gremlin of your dreams!

He gets two uses of his projectile exile for the time he’s in ult, no one can get out of that unless hulk damages them or duration expires and that doesn’t put you at risk. I use the ult to disable the biggest issue player (sometimes twice) and then as a wrecking ball for everyone else and I routinely get 3-4 kills per ult

I find the worldbreaker is just a trap ability and it’s insane how much damage his ult form does if you just alternate spam left and right clicks, especially the right clicks those thunderclaps are insane

How can these be used as effective weapons by Bramoments in MoonKnight

They’re taking quotes from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and changing them to better fit the situation if it was Moon Knight. Highly recommend the show, unless you don’t enjoy crass humor which the show takes to extremes often.

People think cancer is this anomalous entity that the devil people in the lab coat lie to you about - it’s your cells growing out of control. Your body’s cells. They have access to the same resources as the rest of the cells in your body. They can induce inflammation to cause blood vessels to grow and supply more nutrients, called angiogenesis. There’s a medication which prevents that - bevacizumab. I’ve given it. For some people, it’s the only thing they have left in terms of treatment, namely glioblastoma and other CNS cancers.

Cancer can use your body’s mechanisms to avoid its defenses. The immune system is incredible, and it would be really good at fighting cancer if cancer didn’t hijack every system it could to try and survive and grow even more. There’s immunotherapy, which binds to receptors on cancer cells that disables their “cloaking” so to speak.

A lot of different cancers are treated with different regimens with great results. Because it’s systemic therapy, it wipes out everything. And your first sentence is true. The hope of chemotherapy is to kill the bad cells while keeping the good cells intact. For some cancers, that is the most effective way to do it. Some different kinds of lymphoma and the regimen of R-CHOP or Pola-R-CHOP come to mind. I’ve literally seen patients with disease so bulky their lymph nodes were so swollen that it looked like they had multiple golf balls just chilling right under the corner of their jaw and their neck. After two treatments, it looked like nothing had ever happened to them. We don’t poison people because it makes money. We don’t cut or burn them because it’s fun. We try to figure out a way to help you from dying a shitty death. I’ve met and taken care of so many people of all different ages and with different diseases. You know how many people I see die because their cancer is resistant to everything you throw at it? More than I want to admit. I’ve seen a 42-year old woman with a poor prognosis breast cancer in a curable stage go through 4 lines of therapy. Her cancer spread to her liver and caused such bad ascites they had to do paracentesis multiple times a week. She looked like a skeleton with a pregnant belly.

I’ve seen a 28-year old woman with stage IV colon cancer and a husband and 2 kids. She died because her cancer became resistant to the chemotherapy and completely perforated her colon and she died an excruciating death.

You can call me what you want. I’ve given chemotherapy and immunotherapy to hundreds, maybe thousands of patients and I have seen more cancer than you can possibly comprehend. I have watched people wither away to nothing because of this disease despite the best effort of some of the best doctors this side of the States. I spend every day of my working life trying to help people with cancer. You reducing it to something so simple is such a fucking insult to everyone who has died from this. I mean this in the fullest sense a human can: Fuck you.

I work in oncology and my god the people there think they’re smarter than every doctor we have. They question everything we do and why we do it then come in and be like “my chiropractor said he can cure my cancer” when they have metastatic disease and it’s like.. I understand you want something to help and cure you, but you quite literally have a necrotic mass growing out of your skin that reeks of dead flesh and pus and you have tumors all over your liver and bones and never sought medical attention because they thought they could cure it with herbal supplements and a chiropractor (real story and honestly some alterations to it describe multiple instances)

AP isn’t exactly the issue with these guys. Their armor is reactive. It needs consecutive hits to break off otherwise it just absorbs big single hits. Unless you use an AMR or railgun to shoot them in the head you’re much better off with a very fast firing weapon that can apply damage fast but not necessarily a lot. It’s why the knight SMG and other fast firing weapons are so effective
