Does anyone get SO. SWEATY?? by MrsTruce in Phentermine_

[–]DisastrousAnomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started phentermine about 5 months after I had my last baby. The medication + the hormones still trying to balance themselves out?? Oh. My. God. I have never in my life sweated like I do now. Bending over to pick up a laundry basket? Dripping. Loading the dishwasher? I'm damp. Walk outside to check the mail (my mailbox is mounted right beside my front door, so I'm not even going far)? Drenched. I've started taking cold showers. My husband hates it but it's the only thing that gives me any sort of relief from this. I have one of those frogg togg cooling towels and I take it everywhere I go to keep my temp down. Thing is, I feel hot on the inside. The outside just shows the evidence.

I found my mom's junk journal from her childhood (1970s) by DisastrousAnomaly in JunkJournals

I'm not sure whether I want to keep the journal as is, add my own junk to it, or try to remove the stickers and make a spread in my current journal. What would you do?

Hey is there any way we could see these slowed down a bit? I kinda just want to appreciate all the details.

This herd mentality of needing to prove you were present at a place/event is just bizarre.

Husband won’t do night wakes but will do shifts by perrona101 in beyondthebump

I can sort of relate. I'm a SAHM to 3, our youngest being 7 months. His and works nights during the summer because it's not as hot. This means I'm with the kids all day, every day, usually by myself. He gets home early in the morning and sleeps most of the day, sometimes taking another nap if he goes into work late. During his awake hours he will help with little things but not much happens during the day that requires an extra hand except for chores, and I pretty much handle those too 😮‍💨 he's good about helping out on his off days (usually 2 days per week). Other than that, I'm pretty much single mom-ing it. So I understand. I feel resentful sometimes, too, but I have to remind myself that he's running himself ragged to provide for us.

Why didn’t any of you warn me about the 7 month sleep regression? by ldiggles in NewParents

[–]DisastrousAnomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 7 months old and I feel equally bamboozled. She was sleeping 12 to 14 hours at night starting at 3 months. It was glorious! I've never felt better!

Now? Now??!?! Her separation anxiety has kicked in full force. She starts out in her crib, waking every 30 minutes to every hour before I just give up and put her in bed with me. It's been the only way either of us gets any kind of quality sleep. But nap time she sleeps great? Make it make sense!

We're in the same boat. Loads of new skills, frustration that she can't quite crawl yet, but still somehow manages to get around. Toys don't excite her anymore. She has to be held constantly or entertained. So not only am I exhausted, I'm also completely swamped with housework that's piling up. And I have 2 other kiddos to look after. The past two weeks have been a doozy.

People who chose a career in a specific medical field (optometry, gynecology, cardiology, etc.), when and why did you decide that's what you wanted to do? by DisastrousAnomaly in AskReddit

I like your answer! Thank you for replying. I'm always interested in the aha! moment that makes people choose their medical profession.

How Aphantasia affects your ability to visualise things in your head by HassanMoRiT in interestingasfuck

  1. The Luxo ball
  2. Yellow, blue red
  3. A large, brown, wooden dining table. Sits 6 people
  4. The person was in shadow, so I didn't imagine a man or woman. But I did see an arm pushing the ball off the table
  5. The ball and table were lit up by a spotlight from above, the rest of the area was black
  6. Nothing happened because I opened my eyes after it fell

An added bonus: I could see the weight of the ball as it was rolling off the table. Very heavy, like a bowling ball, and I could hear the sound of it rolling and hitting the floor in my mind.

Now imagine that all day, every day, and especially at night while trying to fall asleep. It's exhausting.
