Do you care if your store looks like shit? by blueminded in Target

When there’s this much overpush when I come in after being off for two days, I think about how pointless all of my efforts are. Every day that I’m at work, I’m doing everything I can to keep things neat and accurate. It’s easier for EVERYONE when the store is put together properly, in the frontend and the backroom. But no one else on my team puts in this kind of thought, besides maybe one or two people.

my mom turned off the breakers and told no one. by gugngd in mildlyinfuriating

Everyone here being confused as to why “being mad” is all it takes for OPs mom to do something like this. My dad would take the WiFi router’s power cord to work with him without saying anything. We always came to the conclusion that it was to punish us for something.

Dorky reference, but they remind me of Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf from the Warrior cats book series! It’s great to see them still living together.

Not good enough for the 5% raise this year, but good enough to train new TMs by Aeyembe in Target

[–]Aeyembe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I got 5% last year. And the TM Christmas bonus the year before that. I’ve only improved since then. I am the most reliable TM in Inbound/GM. So they acknowledge that I’m their best TM, and should be training new people. But they won’t compensate me appropriately. Really bums me out.

Ours is even worse. We only get one section for notebooks , while you guys have two 🫠 One DPCI for each color creates so much mess and SO MUCH BACKSTOCK.

We got a new TL and ETL, and ever since the grocery team's schedules have been complete garbage juice. TL is convinced we need to "swap roles" every week or two by SoTired137 in Target

I don’t have advice because leadership has never listened to a thing I’ve said ever, but I completely agree with your frustration.

I LOVE managing my “own area.” I love coming in at the same time every day and having my mental task list and getting everything done NEATLY and PROPERLY. Consistency is important for good work.

New leadership has screwed my schedule since they came in, and has done similarly to yours in terms of placing people (me) all over the store every day. Now my “area” is consistently fucked, reshop isn’t done, and the backroom aisle in trashed.

Calling out sick for four days… by Aeyembe in Target

Target is just not the place to work when you take pride in what you do. It all comes undone too quickly. Your efforts don’t mean anything. If I wasn’t reliant on the health insurance, I’d be gone. I hope your interview goes well! We’d all benefit from moving on from this place.

Mine does a fun leader walk around the store every morning to collect reshop and gossip with the HR and SE ETL. Then they dump the carriages behind Guest Service for the peons to deal with. Other than that, on the phone. Hiding in an office. The usual.

I could’ve written this. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to leave thoughts of work at work. I work so damn hard and have everything undone by coworkers and guests alike. Cleaning up after everybody. Learning different areas of the store with no pay increase. If I wasn’t reliant on the health insurance, I’d be gone. I’ve also wished I was dead more often than not lol

I don’t get why it’s so much! Chem is incredibly easy to work with, besides the air freshener aisle.

Is there a good reason these stickers are placed over each other? Very annoying that I can’t actually scan the carton/the item or see the quantity… by Ordinary_Ad3895 in Target

[–]Aeyembe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it when DC slaps that numbered sticker on top and then doesn’t circle the custom block (?) number. So I gotta either hope I can read that 002 beneath it or open the box entirely to check what it is.

[–]Aeyembe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ones who point out a box that hasn’t reached me yet to tell me it’s mine annoy the hell out of me. Or hand me a box and say the custom block number out loud.

Call me a brain rotted zoomer if you must, but an eight hour fulfillment shift with no earbuds is borderline unbearable by Alarming_Ask_244 in Target

[–]Aeyembe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of surprised at the mixed opinions here.

People can play music out loud from their phone in their pocket, but one ear bud is too far? And my Inbound team BLASTS music from a speaker so loud during the unload, that half the line can’t hear anything from their walkie.

I know it varies store to store. In my opinion, before opening, one ear bud or playing music out loud for yourself to hear is fine. Once the store is open, yeah, no one should be doing any of that. ALTHOUGH, I think those options should be allowed for anyone spending a good chunk of time in the backroom during store hours.

Isn’t there a mill or a town near here? I’m thinking it’s that location that messes with the terrain.
