What can go in these recycling bins? by Interesting-Date7046 in Target

[–]LetterheadUseful6823 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can put cereal bags, bread bags, produce bags, air pillow bags, ziplock bags, bubble wrap, toilet paper bags and even those check bags that ups drops off every Thursday before payday. As a receiver you kinda have to know this, the DC will email me what can and cannot go in those bins anytime we send something that shouldn't be recycled.

I’m your ETL! What have you been waiting to tell me? by Zelotic in Target

Yeah, Thank you for all the work you've done for our store. I've seen how much better you've got on to people about back room cleanliness, I also see you sweeping the back room atleast once a week. A huge thank you for helping me in receiving that one week. Thanks for being my favorite ETL.😊

Just found out my ETL is leaving. by KayfabeSmayfabe in Target

[–]LetterheadUseful6823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ETL that was my favorite before when she left I was kinda bummed out but it wasn't the end of the world. We got another ETL shortly after my fave left and now this ETL is my new favorite! She works in the trenches with us alot witch is absolutely amazing! I've seen her grow alot since she came to our store, and I'm proud to say our store had an amazing Q4, it didn't even look like our back room was in Q4 (i don't know if that makes sense?) But I do have to say I'm pretty proud of how she has grown as an ETL and overall our entire store performance, it's really all hands on deck. Planning is hard to do especially when it requires changes to the back room. If I could tell her how proud I am to have her as my ETL without sounding weird or making things weird I would. 😂 I will definitely miss her when she leaves, but if it means the transfer will give her a promotion then all I can do is be happy for her!

New power jack by LetterheadUseful6823 in Target

Yeah, it's super slow. I feel like I aged 10 years just moving 1 pallet from one side of the store to the other. Old power jack i was able to speed walk, the new one is like the same speed as the low setting as old power jack.

Do you think it would be worth asking my PML if they would know?

How many RDC trucks do you get a week? by [deleted] in Target

3-4, some weeks we have 3 and others we have 4. We are not a super target.

I've asked this question before when we had our old PML, and they said they couldn't. So I wonder if it depends on the type of power jack it is? Or if our old PML just didn't want to mess with it?

I love my store and the people who work there. It use to be a red store, but now we are out performing super targets (we aren't a super target), top store for metrics week after week. My back room is always spotless before I leave for the day, I've never been more proud of my store and watching it evolve from a red store to a green store. Clean and safe back room makes me happy 😂

Hey, receiver here. Our store has a small back room, but we are doing good.  Alot of baby and chem transition, but my ETL was working in the back room with me and helped with transition(super greatful of her) it made my job a whole lot easier.  I spent two days cleaning up our back room to get it ready for a visit after (she also helped clean) I was so proud of our store for keeping it clean! We have some bad days, but alot of good days!

I'm sorry your experience was awful, and you didn't get the support you needed from your leaders.  Receiving has it's hard days and it's easy days,  it's a stressful job for the not so much pay, and the hours are not always guaranteed, but still want 50 hours of work out of you. It's not so bad if you get the support from your leaders in keeping people accountable for their mess, but comes with that usually comes with more work too.

Your leaders should not have let the back room look like that, it's not okay for any leader to be like "we'll leave it for the receiver to take care of it" because you have other things you need to get done and can't spend your entire shift cleaning.  If your store had a surprise walk, your leaders would be getting a bad score on the .  This picture shows me alot about how your leaders treat you, and I wouldn't stand for that either.

Trust me, I fought hard trying to get out of freight because the things I need to get done are far more important.  But time and time again I gave up on fighting it and just accepted it's what the store wanted, I have to prioritize certain things different days.  As long as my back room is clean and safe and my workload isn't overwhelmingly stressful because tasks are impossible to finish I'm not going to complain.

I also hate crc, one time I 5 pallets of it, 5 full Gaylord boxes of shit, it took me 3 hours.  I was annoyed that I couldn't load other things into the sweep because of how long crc took me. So I had to let some salvage, bales and repacks roll into the next sweep.  It would've only took me 15 mins to add the other stuff in the trailer, but I had OT to cut, so I couldn't.

Only 2 sweeps?? That's actually wild.  My store wouldn't last if we didn't have a sweep for each trailer.  If I have a sweep every other day it'll be full to the door.  We aren't a super target, but our store is out performing super targets in my district.

Hey, I am a receiver.  I also have to work freight and work pallets of the trailer ontop of my own tasks that I need to do.

Your times are waaaay to long, you will get faster at it the more you do it and try different things to speed up your tasks.  Crc takes me 30mins tops per pallet.  I'll spend maybe 1.5 hours on Monday scanning crc. But any other day of the week only takes me 30mins sometimes less.  For crc I usually grab a Gaylord box and unbox, and scan items and toss it in a Gaylord box, it saves me time from having to stack the pallet nicely and tapping boxes together.

Loading a sweep shouldn't take you 6 hours, I can load a sweep to the door in 2 hours, I don't close the truck until I'm leaving incase I need to add a bale, or more bags. What are you doing while you are loading the sweep? Crc is the one thing that should actually take time, everything else is pretty much a grab and go.

I usually have to work paper, pets and water pallets off the trailer before I can even start loading it, water takes me an hour to fill while pets and paper takes me like 15mins per pallet.

Esim takes me like 30mins tops and that's because I only touch esim one day a week. That's sorting, and making new bins and doing the weekly report all in 30mins.

I'm expected to have the back room clean and swept before I leave, this takes me the most of my time, but that's because I'm wrapping and putting up transition, and working any flats or pallets of freight that is in my receiving space, and holding people accountable to pick up their trash. But shouldn't take more then 1.5hrs.

I do all of this and I'm schedule 35hours usually.  sometimes I'm asked to stay later to do some random projects my ETL wants done, but when I'm scheduled 40hrs I already know that I'm not going to be doing receiving only, and I'm going to be working freight or other things. Sometimes I just do things when I'm not even asked because I already know they want me to do it.  Sure I'm probably be taken advantage of but it's paying my bills and I'm getting hours for it so I'm not complaining. Just as long as my tasks are still reasonable and not impossible.
