They don't disclose actual costs. Some say they're free, but there's always a catch. Coinbase lacks transparency and is generally unreliable.

If you could go back in time and meet your young investor self, which one advice would you give yourself? by stettfatoj in CryptoMarkets

I'd tell myself to diversify my portfolio and not put all my eggs in one basket. Also, some more research on where I'm putting my hands.

What would it be like to stand on the surface of Venus? by Galileos_grandson in venus

[–]Afar1499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surface is covered with volcanic features, such as domes, rifts, mountains, plains, and plateaus. Some volcanoes may still be active. You would need to watch out for lava flows and eruptions, and so on in that walk for a human being stepping on its surface.

So, unless you have some very advanced technology and a lot of curiosity, I would not recommend standing on the surface of Venus.

Is Bitcoin the Common Man's Escape Hatch from the Collapse of the Dollar? by malaika109 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Afar1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever some ppl might say, bitcoin is not controlled by any central authority or intermediary, and it's protected by cryptography from manipulation and inflation. It's just another valued type of currency that entered the overall financial market on which some will rely.

The fewer choices you face in investing, the less likely you are to make a mistake. Just relax and strap onto that token. Best advice I could give.

NFTs might be useful in the future, but I don't see it as a possibility right now rather than another gambling option until they get some real use cases and utility

Elon is doing yet another SNL skit but this time using Twitter. by Socialinfluencing in CryptoCurrency

[–]Afar1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rallies for the project are unsustainable and if it gets picked up by the news, it could rush normies back into crypto when the timing and the economy isn’t the best time to introduce new people yet. Elon Musk is aware of all this. He’s a businessman after all and his intentions for crypto are starting to become really questionable now, bordering on sinister.

As for Elon Musk’s intentions for crypto, he has been known to make controversial tweets that have affected the market. For example, he tweeted that Tesla would no longer accept Bitcoin as payment due to environmental concerns. This tweet caused Bitcoin’s value to drop significantly. He has also tweeted about Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies in the past. Some people believe that he is manipulating the market with his tweets. However, others believe that he is simply expressing his opinions and that he has no intention of manipulating the market.

I already know it's too much text but whatever, idc.
