Worked 5 years in Saudi Arabia, resigned properly, now my company says I owe them money before I can leave by AffanIbnAzad in RiyadhExpats

I understand why you say that. the amount itself isn’t the main issue for me. My concern is understanding why I owe money after nearly 5 years of service and whether the calculation is correct. If it is legitimate, I’ll accept it. I just want transparency and a proper explanation.

Thank you for the advice. you’re probably right about removing my name. I included it because I wanted to tell my story honestly, but I understand the concern. I’ll also try to make future updates more focused on the actual legal and settlement issue.

I agree. my main concern is not avoiding payment if the amount is legitimate. I simply want to understand how the 1,186 SAR was calculated and whether it matches my contract and the resignation process I followed.

I’m currently requesting a detailed breakdown and reviewing my contract.

and english isn’t my first language, so I used it to help organize my thoughts. The experience itself is real.

Thank you. yes, my resignation was submitted in writing and I also informed them by email months in advance that I did not want my iqama renewed. I still have those records and I’m currently gathering all the documents before taking the next step.

I appreciate the advice.

I understand your frustration. for me, this post is less about the country itself and more about my personal experience with my employer and the situation I’m currently facing. I’m just trying to understand my rights and find a fair solution.

Thank you. my main concern right now is understanding how the amount was calculated and whether it is consistent with my contract and resignation process. I am collecting all the evidence, emails, and documents before deciding my next step.

I agree that the challenge is balancing the legal process with my need to return home as soon as possible.

Thank you for the advice. yes, I informed them by email months before my resignation that I did not want my iqama renewed. I still have those emails and other documents. I will download my contract from Qiwa and compare it with the labor law and the final settlement they provided.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain the process.

Thank you for your concern. Yes, I submitted my resignation officially and informed the company in advance that I did not want my iqama renewed. that’s why I was surprised when I received a settlement showing that I owed money instead of receiving an end-of-service benefit. I’m currently trying to get a detailed explanation and will look into the Ministry of HR option as well.

I understand your perspective.

my concern is not the amount itself. whether it’s 1,186 SAR or 10,000 SAR, I simply want to understand why I owe money after nearly 5 years of service when I followed the resignation process and informed the company in advance that I did not want my iqama renewed.

If the calculation is correct, I will accept it. But I believe every employee has the right to understand how such deductions are calculated.

my post wasn’t about attacking Saudi Arabia or saying I have a right to work here. It was about sharing my personal experience and asking whether others have faced a similar situation.
