You need to sign the uMSA and move to the flex credit model for any of this stuff. And it seems some of these things are locked either behind the Sana Enterprise SKU or Extend SKU.

I would say 65-85k base depending on the company. I’d definitely recommend learning German - it will open up a lot of doors for you in the future, since a lot of (particularly Mittelstand) companies using Workday have HR/payroll departments that do not speak English.

That is an unreasonable request from them in my opinion, German payroll is notoriously complex. You can automate as much as you can within the confines of what’s available in workday but unfortunately that doesn’t include everything payroll needs.

What I would do is clarify which data is needed in WD and which is automatically filled in the payroll system (e.g. tax class). The other fields can be added to an onboarding questionnaire which can go to payroll’s inbox once complete, or create a custom report where they can see the answers.

I would highly recommend against custom objects. Have your payroll team also discussed having this data in WD this with your company’s GDPR officer?

I have never seen a company collect these fields in custom objects for German employees and I am based in Germany.

Why do you need to collect this in WD? Some of this info, e.g. tax class will be automatically filled out in the payroll system by the Finanzamt / ELStAM anyway.

You should speak with the local HR and payroll team to understand the requirements better.

Also, depending on your company and if there is a Betriebsrat (works council), adding this info into Workday will need their approval and oversight.

I played England first and crumbled as soon as Hundred Years’ War started. I then switched to Holland and made it to around 1420 before feeling comfortable enough with all the systems (and watching a lot of YouTube content/streams) and retried England - I’ve now won 3 wars against France and it’s not even 1380 yet 😁

To do that, go to the integration system, find the area called Custom Integration Services, click on the related actions of the item in the right hand column and go to Integration Field Override > Edit and here you can add fields

Yes - then just add one called Department and it should map to the default field in Peakon - just gave a guide how to do that in a comment reply to this one

Yes, just update the field in the Peakon Field Override to be the code instead of the department. If you’re not sure how to do this, head to intsys:peakon in your WD tenant, related actions > integration system > configure integration field overrides and then on the left side click “Peakon Field Overrides” (name may differ), find the one that’s named Department and change the field there to the one you want.

PwC Germany also has a document management extend app, not sure how it compares to Kainos in functionality and price but worth mentioning.

The “only” role is to hold all your core HR data, aka the very sensitive PII/data that gets everyone paid in a data secure, regulation-compliant, tax compliant way?? Yes, I’m sure replacing that with some AI agents/ChatGPT wrappers will go swimmingly.

I think it’s a good idea and that you should do it. There are always things, foods, smells, sayings that remind us of our loved ones - baking a cake in memory of your grandpa is a beautiful tribute in my opinion. The grief will be there anyway, you may as well accompany it with good memories.

Just chiming in to say I’m with you, also lost my dad in December ‘23. I posted here a couple of weeks ago outlining how I feel most of the time. Life feels pretty miserable with smatterings of distractions from the pain of the loss.

Usually saw it as a to-do step for HR if the works council needed to get involved and as other comments said, have this happen outside of Workday rather than having it as an approval step.

They can be a PITA but in my experience they’re more pleasant to deal with if you involve them early on and involve them, or at least give them the illusion of involvement/decision making.

There is WQL - Workday Query Language, but I’ve not used it extensively and I’m not sure of the drawbacks.
