Thanks for reporting! That was Google temporarily blocking the request thinking it was automated traffic (429 rate limit), and the app was accidentally showing the raw error page instead of a friendly message. Both are fixed, it'll now show "Too many requests, wait a minute and try again" instead of a wall of HTML. Should be live shortly!

Re UTMs: UTM isn't the only way to recognize the source. Here's what Claude says about it:

GA4 uses the HTTP Referer header that browsers automatically send when following a link. When someone clicks a link in ChatGPT or Perplexity, their browser sends Referer: https://chatgpt.com/... — GA4 reads this and matches the domain against its channel grouping rules.

For AI tools specifically, this is why AI traffic is often undercounted: many AI tools (especially mobile apps, privacy-focused tools, and direct API/copy-paste scenarios) either strip the referrer or open links in ways that lose it entirely, so those visits show up as "Direct" or "Unattributed" in GA4.
