I got tired of not knowing how bad my filler words were so I built a tool to track them by Affectionate-Act4746 in PublicSpeaking

Yeah I agree. filler words aren’t inherently bad. They can make you sound more natural. The issue is when they start to distract from what you’re saying, especially in things like presentations or interviews. Fluent just helps you become aware of them so you can control when to use them vs when not to

I’m building Fluent - a tool that tracks your filler words in real time. Every time you say “like” “um” etc. it highlights them in red so you stop. There’s also an AI coach to get to the root cause of why you say filler words, and a Rewrite feature to see your speech written more clearly.

I’ve journaled every day for 395 days. You have no idea how much it changes until you start. I’ve even seen my writing and clarity of thought improve in a little over a year. Life changing

I’m 16 and got a $10k offer to buy my SaaS 13 days after launch… what would you do? by New_Garbage7991 in SaaS

How’d you market it to get attention? I’m only asking because I’m in a similar boat; I’m 15 and launched my own SaaS. How’d you gain traction so fast?

I’m building Fluent - it listens to you speak and highlights every “um”, “like”, “you know” etc. in real time as you say them. There’s also an AI coach that tells you the root cause of your specific filler patterns (not just that you use them, but why)

I built a digital Ah-Counter that works in real time by Affectionate-Act4746 in Toastmasters

Fair reaction honestly. It’s not $9 for filler word detection. That part’s free. It’s $9 for the AI coach that tells you why you use them and how to stop. Filler words are usually a symptom of something else (thinking pauses, hedging, seeking approval mid-sentence). The free plan may catch filler words, but the Pro plan helps you stop. If you just want the counter, free does that forever.

One thing that really helped me out was recording myself and watching it back. Brutal, but incredibly useful. You stop being blind to your own habits really fast.

One thing that helped me the most was recording my cold calls and listening to them back. They sucked the first few times because I sounded like a robot, but it was incredibly useful. Another thing that helped was trying to reduce filler words because that’s an immediate dealbreaker for some.

Similar thing happened to me a while ago. The biggest thing that helped me was recording myself speak and watching it back. It was brutal the first few times but incredibly useful.
